Hello to all Bullriders!
I’ve just moved to Australia from Switzerland and would like to get back into trail riding. Have not been riding for the last three years but am keen to getting started again. I would be quite happy to get together with some of you guys and maybe get a few tips where to go and tag along on a ride every so often.
I’ve just bought an older KTM LC4 620 and am in the process of getting rego. Since my riding gear is still underway with my other stuff being shipped over from Switzerland it will still be a few weeks until I’m ready to hit the trails.
Thanks for any feedback and have a nice day

February 13, 2010 at 6:44 pm #171064Hi Swissdude, welcome to OBT and Australia. Let us know where abouts you are living in Australia and it shouldn’t be hard to hook you up with some colourful characters to go ride with. As you are from Switzerland I would imagine that you would have had a lot of hill climb practise seeing as though Switzerland has an abundance of BIG hills. I have spent a bit of time in Switzerland around the Geneva area and saw hills like I have never seen before!!
Cheers
and thanks for the intro.Mick

February 14, 2010 at 1:33 am #171065Hi Bruce
I’m just your friendly viking from next door. Might burn down a few villages and loot all the goodys otherwise just hoping to meet some cool local peasants.
Homebase is in Llandilo.
Thanks and hope to hear…
AlfieFebruary 14, 2010 at 1:54 am #171067Hello Mick
There are awesome hills and mountains in Switzerland. Sadly there are only a handfull of offroad and motocross races a year for riders with a pro license. It’s near impossible to do any trail or motocross riding just as a hobby (unless risking huge fines and serious trouble with landowners). We would have to travel to France or Italy to get some riding done, things are more relaxed there. Since my mom lives in Washington state in the US I would go and tear up the trails in the hills around Seattle when visiting. (best trails I’ve ever encountered) So due to this I’ve never had the pleasure of doing any hill climbing.
How did you like Switzerland apart from the cool Alps?
I’m living in Llandilo enjoying a rural lifestyle and work in St.Marys.
Thanks for your input and hope to hear
AlfieFebruary 14, 2010 at 2:08 am #171069Hi Boony
Mine hang a little to the left, thanks for asking. I’ve been tinkering around with KTM’s since age 15 and just don’t now any better. Apart from that they are pretty cool bikes and always have an attitude and personality of their own. So no, I don’t think I’ll be selling my slow turning hard to handle and ball breaking bike.
Looking forward to some fun times
AlfieFebruary 14, 2010 at 2:14 am #171071Hi White Rocket
Thanks for backing up my choice of ride. I’m happy to be checking out this site and hearing some friendly words regarding KTM’s is a nice plus.
Thanks again and hope to hear from you

AlfieHi Alfie.
I think KTMs are awseome bits of machinary, just dont tell anyone I said that.Riders of my capabilityt could not possibly handle the power or the handling abilityies of those weapons.February 14, 2010 at 3:42 am #171062HI swiss dude– u have some terrifc riding just up the road from you—you have the “drop zone”- Nutt Road Landilo- , aswell you have a shit load off riding to be had in the hills up and around jacksons lane – near the nepean river, Yarramundi is good also
if i was u i would be juicing a few fellas for a ride up and around the zig zag- up the bells line of road- can ride through to Cullen bullen and newnes.Good luck and HAPPY TRAILS- hope to ride a trail with u soon
Cheers

The Rowan, mate not sure if your in Penrith or how long it been since you been out this way but some of the places you mentioned are now off limits. The drop zone has sighs everwhere say “NO TRAILBIKE”. Bikes still go in there but its pretty boring anyway.
Jacksons lane was closed down by the Lakes project about 5 years ago now and the fire trail opposite on the other side of the river is locked up tight and big fines apply.
Yarrumundi has been taken over by National Parks who have done regeneration work in there. Again no bike and big fines.
Best place to go is over the mountains to the Clarence and work ride out from there. Plenty of singles and fireroad heading out from miles. Tiny and me just go home from a 240km ride up there today out to Capperty, Sunny Corner and the like.
