Just thought I’d put up a couple of photos of some mods that I’ve done that others may be interested in.
Ignition switch:
There are those who argue that an enduro bike doesn’t need a switch. I’m not one of them. I relocated the horn recently (what a stupid place for KTM to put a horn!) only to find the next day the bike wouldn’t start. All electrics dead (blinker, horn, etc). Main fuse was blown. I must have touched a horn wire connector to frame at some time, blowing the main fuse. With an ign switch all the aux wiring is now dead. Also adds to the security of the bike (and one’s piece of mind). It is mounted in a prominent location as a vivible deterrent for would-be thieving bastards.
$29. Made an aluminium surround that mounts to a bracket behind the headlamp. The weather cover on the thing is oranage – how sweet is that!

Battery charger sockets:
Made a bracket to hold a couple of sockets that are connected to the battery via a fuse. A roof mounted solar charger trickle charges the bike. Never had a bike battery prob since I bought the thing over five years ago.

Cheers, TW
