    I went for a ride with a mate on monday arvo for a quick 40km loop in the bush around the property i always look after my bike and service and keep track what needs to be repaced or repaired well i thought i had for 8000km +

    20km into the ride im having a go down a fast bit of trail as i approached a leafy and slipery 90deg corner tried to slow down and had a stuck throttle i had no time to think before i was nearly in to a very large gum tree and bailed out just in time to see my bike cartwheeling over the top of me and just missing the tree i was very lucky not to have totaled myself or the bike ended up with some bad bruises and a very tender shoulder and some broken plastic

    I limped the bike back home on light throttle
    after pulling the tank etc off found the throttle cables frayed and jaming in the outer so check them cables regularly and avoid a very scary moment B)

    Geez mate,that would have been a ass puckering moment :S The big 525 at full throttle is a sight to behold,when its at full throttle and cartwheeling over your head :woohoo: holy crap,get better soon mate ;)

    Yeah its a good reminder Bill, I run those teflon inner coated easy pull cables (from england forget the name but will find it) and lube them regualrly. I also remove my tank a lot swapping between the standard and the 17 litre so I check them a lot. They cost extra but have been in the bike since the 4 day in 2006 so they have done 22,000kms worth it

    Wow Bull that’s a nightmare, bad enough on the little warlock when it happened, the big stroker woulda been a right handful, I’m like TB, one throttle sticking “Moment” too many and it rates high on the regular lube schedules.

    Once totalled my RZ350 in front of my best mate and my Soon to be bride some sideways showing off in the driveway and when I back off the throttle it was still pinned, christ a 70hp twin smoker can accelerate quick when you don’t want it too……………………

    Damn glad you’re OK plastic and metal is easily replaced.

    Thanks guys no real damage just soreness and bruseing you think i would know better by now as i must of changed a half dozen in the last couple of years just never checked mine

    Ballards do a teflon cable i think twice the price but sound worth it with the ks theay will do

    Im ringing Mal to see if he has any :)

    I think they are called featherlight cables Husky use them as standard fitment I think (well they did on my old 360’s)

    Lucky escape Bull!

    I had my 350 trials bike jam up on me going up a steep hill with a lip at the top. A couple of kiddies with MX shitters were watching me and my old man practice. I flew out the top of the hill pinned in 3rd doing a massive jump (for a trials bike) almost over these 2 kiddies heads!!

    I landed very awkwardly and rode off. My old man caught me up and told me to stop being a dickhead and showing off :laugh:

    Exact same thing though, throttle cable was frayed at the throttle housing stopping the cable moving through the sheath easily.
