would like to thank murph for putting on a top day and dude for being the sweep and lending a hand during the day( i think the knee is goin to come out unscathed) the day started out with 7 of us from murphs place and we headed out to the widow maker id already come off before this which set the tone for the day for me anyway my strike rate on the hills wasnt all that good either so i never took amazon on but i think there is a photo of me making it up one hill and 1 or 2 photos of me coming off heh heh……anyway there was some excellent trails you really had to work the bike i was buggered by the time we got to the gap servo and thanks to dude who showed us a few alternative routes turned the day into a sensatinal one that i didnt just trash my self cause im just not fit enough yet but going on rides like that will as they say if it doesnt kill ya it will make you stronger. So thanks to everyone that was there good bunch of blokes and i had a top day Cheers Huskybloke

Thanks all for coming along and sharing our snottier tracks of the area :woohoo:
Day started off with our brand new single :woohoo: I had one go at the widow maker and just missed out :( Tim had his first attempt and launched a little too hard at the step and landed in a tree  :woohoo: and flipped it right at the top on his second go but that was close enough to get over the lip. Gili was the only other rider to have a go and I think he nailed it on his second or third attempt :woohoo: (No beers needed to be handed out at the end of the day as no one did it one go) Myself and the other boys took the softer option which still reaked a bit of havock
Traveled out under the train tunnel and did the singles around Awaba, then up and over the hill where we watched the kids go around West Lakes Moto track on their 65’s.
Will have to write the rest when I get a chance as work SUX
    Cheers

Sounds like a typical murphsberg mate. Did you get any pics?

How did the back hold up?

Now, where was I before work rudly interupted me
Then it was over the road and into what is now known as Sugarlaf conservation area ;) Another couple of hills only one which caused any drama then over the Wakey rd and into K9 single. Took some photos here but missed Huskybloke taking on an old line and was lucky enough to just stay on the high side of the rut  Well done mate, you looked stoked when you topped out :woohoo: Unfortunately Corey wasn’t so lucky getting caught in the rut and having to have another go :( Near the end of this I heard that Huskybloke had an off and got his leg caught under the bike twisting his knee :( Didn’t stop him though and I hope it comes good mate :)
We then got caught behind four or five fire trucks for a bit until the bush opened up enough to get around :silly:
Did the other couple of singles with Mal, Gili, Tim and I getting to the top of one section and the others taking the easier option. Then back accross the dirt rd and into another single which was dry enough to get through, again some of the boys taking the easy way ;) Bit of a pattern happening here ;) :silly:
Last track before lunch was Razorback, yet again most of the boys took the left line which looked more untidy than just coasting over the rock ledge, but each to their own I suppose :woohoo:
Hamburger, fuel and a chat with Eagle who was up there :)
Was meant to meet Dans party for lunch but we were running late and they were running later so we left minus Mal (who rode home from there) for the Southside close to 1300hrs. Hope everything was alright Dan
Did the usual tracks and singles and regrouped at the base of Amazon where we were to learn that only Gili was going up with Tim and I.

The three of us made the first section and then I took the wrong line on the next, giving my bike a lttle rest on its side for a bit ;) The next section is the crux (climbng term for hardest) Well Tim and Gili made it with only a little fuss but I have to admitt I made a meal of it   ;)
We then stopped at the rock cliffs for a pic and continued up the rest of the hard sections with ease ;)
Met the other boys back down the road and we dropped down the snotty hill to the Bangalow :woohoo: Did most of the tracks around there then headed for home :woohoo:
Stopped at one waterhole to the dismay of the Dude so he took the lead and ploughed through the water filled rut from hell  I have to admitt I did have evil thoughts, thinking how funny it would of been to see him get stuck   But it didn’t happen and I felt sorry for him when he came off on the very last hill of the day :(
Conditions were a little too dry for my liking but the crew made it a great day out :)
Should of taken more pics. Will post some tomorrow.
    Cheers

wow good write up murph. had an awesome day first time Ive ridden with the bulls and the tracks were amazing.thanks murph and boys for putting up with us slower riders and dude for showing us a softer option on some of those big snotty hills. i was amazed with myself being able to make it up some of the other hills without an incident.i thought i was going to be able to say at the end of the day that it was the first ride Ive had without an off but unfortunately on the last hill 5 Min’s from the cars i stopped at the bottom and dropped my bike and rolled on my back like a turtle.anyway thanks again for the ride , looking forward to the next one.

    cheers Corey

i could see the plan happening to Murph its called being “absolutely knackered” and not wanting to wrestle the husky off the ground AGAIN!!, Sure i cant talk you into 1 more ride in a fortnight before you wrap yourself up in cotton wool, i mean it, that was a great ride would love another crack at it ?????

A nice day for a nice adventure’ :)

I was sweep for the day and early on it became apparent that dust would be an issue, for me anyway.

Lucky there was lots of single trails. :P

Huskybloke and Coastcut kept me company while the others were always in a hurry to climb some hill or obstacle,
I don’t think we or I held them up too much, yes at times we took the more sane option. :)
Felt it was more sensible thing to do, very early in riding season want no more injuries. ;)
    Period.
Come to think of it there was heaps really the vast majority we didn’t go round.

Huskybloke was caught out on unfamiliar territory but to his credit he just kept getting up and getting on with it to finish a 100 odd KM murph ride. Good job. B) :cheer:

Had 1 off but you get that, knee braces are great. :)

Pivot Pegz :) are really cool too with feeling less fatigued and no arm pump at any stage of the ride.
They make me ride in a more balanced fasion, no ankle pain. Thats a good thing. :cheer:

Anyway had a great day you should have been there.
    Dude. B)
