Mousse tube question – OLD Bull Trailriders

when you use these tubes in your tyres , what are they like as in tyre pressure wise , Like i know that you dont pump these up in anyway but does it feel like your running about 30 PSI in your tyres and the first bit of soft stuff they just want to slice through it or are they softer and more chance of dinging your rims. just how you change your tyre pressures to siut the conditions what do these tubes do to your grip

Yeah when new like 12psi max, over time they get down around 8 psi. As they go flat (just a term) you cut extra pieces and pack them in the tyre. The more you pack the harder it feels. And its much harder to dent your rims, but I find that I hit things so much harder because of the confidence that a mousse gives me I still dent my rim :laugh: But it takes so much more then a tube honest

you should drop a valve stem in so you can pop the bead and them let the air out,, mouse tube at brand new should be around 16 psi,ish and get lower as they age, just add pieces in when they start getting soft to save ya rims.

How long does it take for them to feel like they are loosing pressure??

Or how long do youfeel like they are 12psi?

Boony you are exactly right although I don’t think the pressure is that high but I could be wrong. I have inflated then before to get them to bead but normally they are alright. Good tip

I dont notice them going of until they are way down, my current mousse is pretty old now and I fitted a 10 inch section just before the Sofala ride and it was great. Mal5.1 runs them as does Crash and Chicken and never complain they are to flat. Have you had to add to yours yet Boony? I know Crash runs them flatter then me before he packs them.

People always tell you you have a flat when they see it but :laugh:

I always run a front I think 2006 was the last time I had a tube in the front and that was an emergency. The rear I sometimes fit but the rears are a pain in the arse to fit unless you know what you are doing
