    Hi All

    Have just been given an old XR 600 88mdl in lots of peices. Just about have it back together.
    My problem is that the manual I downloaded says the R/R should be under the seat, The bike I have has the CDI under there and thats about it. Anywhere else it could be ?

    dave most of the XR “experts“ are on a ride today,you will get plenty of advice when they return.

    What about on the frame somewhere a black box rubber mounted thingy mabob under the petrol tank or near the front sprocket above mounted to the frame? These are a guess and my 400 is a 2003 model so it must be somewhere just follow all the wires to see where they go is there much difference in any of the XR set up over the years have they changed much?

    They have a CDI which is a little black box rubber mounted under the seat and just next to it there shoud be a regulator rectifier that is an aluminium thing with a few fins on it from memory.It sits directly above the boot that connects the carbie to the airbox. There is also another Reg/rectifier behind the headlight too.
