As the title says, it started with this:
Then I got this:
Then I had a rush of blood and picked this up:
and for some reason this
and today this:
I have a problem!!!!
The Chinese 250 is being sold. Should be sold this week.
Not sure about the XR. It’s monster and needs a bit of work. If it doesn’t sell this week I will hang onto it and take my time working on it.The KTM I picked up today. Itsa veeeery niiiiiice
Needs a clean up, new brake pads and new rims front and back. They are cracked. Just hunting around for a decently priced set now. It cam with a full set of newish orange plastics and a black seat. I will paint/dye the orange plastics black and store the plastics on it away.June 14, 2010 at 8:14 am #181719That is a sweet kickstarer on that XR!! is the XR up for sale???
June 14, 2010 at 8:23 am #181720She is at the moment. But now that I have the KTM to ride I am thinking of hanging onto the XR and taking my time to rebuild it. She needs a bit more work than I first thought. I had a ride Saturday and she started first kick everytime, ran rough but was all go. On Sunday would not start, sprained my ankle, took all the skin off my shin when she kicked back etc etc
I pushed it back into the shed and gave up. Probably start first kick again tomorrow
June 14, 2010 at 8:46 am #181745You could have a lot worse addictions Rod.
KTM looks nice mate.
Love the quad pic. Is that part of a new show or are going up against the horses with that thing?
June 14, 2010 at 9:33 am #181721This is true.
It is a new show we are working on for next season. Quads vs quads vs dirtbikes, all armoured up etc etc. The KTM will be getting a make over and take part in the show. I will be sitting out due to a bung arm so am co-ordinating it.
June 14, 2010 at 9:55 am #181780Lets us know when you have a show on locally mate. We’ll be there as it would be great to watch.
If you need a hand with any bike related stuff let me know also. I’m not to flash with horses though.
June 14, 2010 at 10:00 am #181754Yeah same here Rod I would be interested in the show as would the kids I am sure. As per the PM let me know when you get the kato rims and I am happy to lace them but keep spraying the nipples with WD40 please
TB
June 14, 2010 at 10:01 am #181722Thanks for that, will do.
I am actually looking for riders as well. Willing to wear the gear, rehearse the show, travel to shows etc. We pay riders for shows of course.
Getting it ready now and kicking off for the 2011 show season.
Cheers
Rod

June 15, 2010 at 12:48 am #181835Hey Rod nice ole KTM there, it’s good to see someone taking an interest in all things Motorcycle.

June 15, 2010 at 6:50 am #181718Thanks Bruce, sure is. I really have missed them.
The KTM scared me today with its go. Had a quick ride and it was great. Easy to ride, goes like stink and lofts the front wheel easily. Just have an issue with it bogging down and stalling. I can’t seem to get the HotStart button on the carb in the right spot.
Changed the plug in the bombed up XR630 I picked up and it now starts first kick everytime and goes like a rabid dog. Damn thing scared the crap out of me. I was screaming along in 3rd and cracked the throttle and the damn front wheel came up!!!!
Not sure I want to sell it now :woohoo:
Mind you I could also seriously hurt myself on it as well
June 25, 2010 at 7:30 am #181723Well, here is the KTM after playing with it for a week.
This has been a very quick tidy up to get it serviced and ready to ride. I shot the frame with the engine still in. Polished up the alloy bits and painted the original orange plastics. Pulled the exhause sytem off and painted it with heat paint and polished the alloy muffler. Black rims still to come and some more tidy up work on the brakes, sprockets etc.
This is how I got it:
And this is how it sits at the moment:
