    Hi All,
After the recent knee dramas & realising that I don`t recover as quick as I used too
I have been looking at the Delkevic Knee Braces,,, at the available price of $300 a pair I think they would be a good investment for some valued knee safety!!!

So, has anyone on OBT got the said braces or know someone that does??
Just wondering if they are worth the $$$

Having said that, I think any type of knee protection is better than none by far, of course ,But at the same time I value the experiences of members on here with products, both good & bad ;)

    Cheers

Hey eags… I too have been thinking about knee braces or some sort of knee protection as well.. There seems to be lots of choices making it hard..

    Too true there Krusty,,,
I have lookes at them before, but as usual $$$ are always the factor

However, what price can you put on safety??? It is a long discussed topic on here for sure,,, and the most common philosophy for me is ” always buy the best protection that you can afford “

$300 for the PAIR sounds like great value to me, gotta be better than the $60 hinged knee guards that I have been using for the past 2 years. (they have saved me from some bumps too BTW)

    Cheers

Beags as far as knee braces go can spend 2k a leg or 150 a leg. I don’t think you get the protection from a cheap pair. I spent 6 months doing my research as I had a cheaper pair and wasn’t convinced they helped at all. I bought a pair of asterisk braces and recommended them to Mal5.1 and Boulder who have them now.
They aren’t the cheapest around or are they the dearest, they offer great protection are super comfortable (in fact after the poker run I wore them around in Mick’s shed for nearly 4 hrs after we got back without noticing) I never notice I have them on when riding or walking yet feel safer when I realise I have them on. They offer heaps of adjustment and after seeing the aftermath of Boulders big crash where he broke his left hand brace (parts are easily obtainable) and listening to him speak about it convinced he would have seriously injured himself without them (he does have a niggling injury from it)

I tried a few on and they were the most comfortable and they I feel offer better retention on your leg then pods and the likes that just have 4 straps cause when push comes to shove I want them where I fitted them not moving

All just from my experience and opinion

    See here

One for the bad knee and get the protection until you save for the other, just a thought

    Hey Eags,

Dude has a set of Delkevics I think. He likes them for the price and they offer more protection than standard knee gaurds.

Medogrocket has a pair but doesn’t where them anymore. He found them very bulky and felt his legs were sticking out from the bike to much. The material is a lot thicker than the asterisks, probably to get the same strength from cheaper materials.

Another guy a ride with has a pair and likes them for the price. It took him a while to get used to them but rekons he doesn’t notice them now.

Go and try a set on if you can and you’ll know staraight away if you like them. When I tried the POD K700 on they were horrible and I walked around the shop for about 20min and still didn’t like them. Tried on the asterisks and instant comfort. Depends on your leg/knee shape as to what will feel best. I tried Medogrockets Delkevics on and thought they were to bulky for me.

End of the day mate any protection is better then no protection.

    Hi Eags,

I have a pair of PodMX knee braces and I will not ride without them, the new Pod K700 are little bit lighter. You maybe able to find the PodMX a bit cheaper because of the release of the Pod K700.
I was luck to find a pair up for auction on eBay in the US and got them for $450au delivered (normal price $500 ea.) they were brand new still in the box and the correct size.

If I were you I would check eBay out for what ever quaility brace you can find, you never know your luck, I got lucky.

Hows that for advice ???
There are Delkevics for $150 (new, but private sale)
CTI`s for $400 (factory seconds) & Asterik for under $800

Massive savings on all types, just gonna have a think now & maybe wait to save up some more $$$ before making the decision.
$800 is still an unachievable goal though I think

    gday mate
Like Mal said I did not like them for the bulk feel, but i will be trying them again soon on at least the dodgy knee. I have to admit I did not give them much time when i first used them, i know 2 guys that use the delkevics and both think they are great for the price

    Hey eags dude B)

Yer I got Delkevic knee braces and I reckon there alright. :cheer:

They have saved damage to my knee twice, :)
Once on the fall from Razor back ,fell on the side of my knee and what hurt most was where the steel insert in brace brusied the outside of leg but it saved real damage to my knee after a couple of day I could walk again.
Second time I landed straight on to the ground but no biggy.

Delkevic knee braces gives you good protection but solid knee brace that would stop a twisting motion would be super cool.

I dont notice I have them on when I ride. They support my legs somewhat as well.
