Not many people know that Teknik’s have a mobile suspension workshop ( I didnt  ). How many people know that they will travel and do group suspension setup weekends. So after some discussions with Brad and Nick it was decided to get the show on the road for our north coast Old Bulls.
Once we get a minimum of 8 people (max of 12) and then work out a date, Brad or Nick from Teknik’s will give all on the list a call and discuss what you are wanting from their expert services. That helps them get all the parts for your bike together for the trip and ball parks your cost. It doesn’t cost any extra for them to come to Wauchope but gives you the opportunity to test ride and have it fine tuned on site.
The list so far
Gassit (Gas Gas 300 & 125) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Rider X (WR250) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Nickoff (WR250) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
[strike]Puddles (service) (WR450) (number obtained)
Puddles young blokes (service) (KTM65) (number obtained)[/strike]STM (WR250) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Micknmeld (XR650 & KX85) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Nickj (DR400) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Moose (YZ125) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Moose (KTM250EXCF) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
[strike]Tripper (XR600) (number obtained)[/strike][strike]Unit (450 EXC)[/strike]
Kram (Husky 310) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
Stex (KTM 450 09) (number obtained) CONFIRMED
14th and 15 of August at Moose’s ranchI have Teknik’s tuned / modified suspension on both my XR and Tenere and can’t say enough on how both bikes are incomparable to their factory setups. Its not only me ask Mal5.1, Scotty, Boulder and STM to name a few. So if you have been thinking about getting your suspension setup to suit your weight, your riding style and are close or can get to Wauchope this is for you.

July 20, 2010 at 12:05 pm #184304TB – on the basis that I hang on to the 06 450EXC can you throw my name on the list (if I splurge on a newbie I will be broke). Main timing issue for me will be HVMCC race calendar (kids), I should be able to work around other matters? I hope. A couple of months to organise will be great. Any idea of what the average spend would be? I need to start counting the pennies. Unit

July 28, 2010 at 7:23 pm #184824A problem has just reared it’s head with this date. Due to the current wet weather we are receiving the two day MX meeting scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday has been cancelled and rescheduled for guess when.
Several people that have booked in to have suspension work done, have also nominated to race in this event.
July 28, 2010 at 10:11 pm #184884Sometimes only sometimes things go your way. They have revised the date and the MX is now on August 21-22 and that only clashes with some election that is on that day
All that panic for nothing. As you were .

Are they afraid to do MX in the rain? I don’t get it.. What if you had a multi thousand dollar trip planned would you cancel it.. They should make a schedule for the year and stick to it I say dam committees!!!! But hey I’m just some nobody..

July 29, 2010 at 1:25 am #184891Krusty, just to clear something up. The HVMCC has invested 10’s of thousands of dollars on the race track surface. Being a mixture of loam, sand and saw dust it is now one of the premium race tracks in the country. Unfortunatly, this great surface comes at a cost and that cost is that it becomes a quagmire after heavy rain. We got 5″ of rain yesterday with more rain forecast between now and the weekend. It is still useable for the big bikes but huge muddy rutts will form and the kids in the 65cc and even the 85cc classes will struggle to make it around. If it was a state or national event they would still race but as it is only a club day they dont want to do that much damage to the track that it would cost the best part of $10,000 to repair.
July 29, 2010 at 3:45 am #184894having been involved in fund raisig and track build for such things, Michael is right as a recognised track is a little more than a few mounds of dirt pushed up by some bloke with a david brown and a Bucket.
They are designed from the subsoil up.
I actually reckon Tekniks could turn this into a positive if there is going to be a big club day, all those potential customers in one place, surely a few stickers and a bit of advice to Mums & Dads would engender a little loyalty in return….
The name of the game, turning a challenge into opportunity.
July 29, 2010 at 4:22 am #184300It was just tongue and cheek fellas…
