Hi Gents, well it’s getting closer to actually laying out some of the folding stuff and getting some bikes for our new show.

Been looking at a lot of Honda’s (CRF450’s) and Yamaha’s and keep coming back to the Hondas.

But,,,, also pretty keen on KTM’s. Didn’t think of them at first as wasn’t even sure they had a qaud. Of course they do, so am going to head on down to Sutto’s during the week to have a look at the quads and bikes.

Now as you can imagine this is a rather large amount of money we are talking about. We need two 450 (at least) quads and two bikes.

Like I said, it’s a pretty big investment by the time we get the machines, all the other gear for the show and a rig to pull it all over the country. We have shows next year from Darwin to Port Lincoln with just about every place in between so I need to get this sorted.

So, I have a good idea what the Hondas are like and we can pick up 2006 models onwards for pretty good money.

But what are the KTM’s like?

My old girl (1994 400) is as tough as nails but I hear that modern bikes can be a bit,,,,,,, delicate? :P

We will have a good look at what Sutto’s have but all advice is appreciated.

your old 400 will be as tough as nails as it’s the LC4 range.(i believe be roller rockers like the big sister 600/620/640/660 and 690’s) the LC’s are a bit less fuss than the modern MX bred gene pool that’s about now.

i’m sure if you let suttos’ know you’re an old bull + the amount of coin you’re looking to invest, i’m sure they’ll look after you..

as far as i know the KTM 450 Quads are the same engine as the EXC/SX 450 trail bike. so buying spares and filters etc. you should get an alright price as you will be buying 4 or so at one time..

    well hope so anyway..

    good luck with it all!

I should have got down to Appin today. Apparently they had a KTM Dirtday. Could have got a good look and ride on the bikes I am interested in.

What a day. Dropped in to Suttos to look at the quads and bikes.

Spoke to the guys there and they were very helpful and seemed keen on what we are doing.

The bikes themselves,,,,,,,,,,,,, beautiful. These are great looking bikes.

The 250SX (2 stroke) was recommended to us for our show. Great looking bike. I am torn between it and the new 350SX-F.

    2t vs 4t,,, :)

Have a descision to make now between the local guy up here and Hondas or Suttos and KTM’s. Both dealers are great to deal with and keen and the bikes are all very nice.
