    taken from another forum
I have it in good authority the summer spanish holidays are over next week and they are starting to make pre-production estart 2 stroke bikes to be air freighted out to several national importers for mag reviews, etc.

Australia will see a couple of these in the next month. The starter will be more substantial than the KTM one so expect it to work properly too. The full run of them will turn up later in the year.

There will also be a ‘Euro’ 2 stroke model coming to OZ, similar to the R models, the 200cc smokers will come fully blinged up standard and an Australian only spec’d 450. But they are tight lipped about all that stuff so we will have to wait to find out more.

Nah fourstrokes are for blokes that can’t react quick enough to ride a two stroke…. :P

    It’s an old hat argument.

the manufacturers from japan want you blokes to ride 4T, just go with the flow and it’ll all be good.

Me I’ll be buying the second generation of whichever company puts out a lightweight good chassis’d DI 2T.

Quick question for the MX heads, where weight DOES count
    If in 1982 a suzuki RM250 weighed 97 kg

    http://www.fullfloater.com/specs.html

    why in 2010 does an RMZ250 weigh 104 ???

    this is progress I assume.

1982 model has more power, is faster in a straight line, accelerates to it’s top speed quicker, and arguably has a better rear suspension design.

But it would be silly to deny that the RMZ is quicker on an MX track, but still not a heck of a lot of progress in real world feel or on paper.
and which one is more expensive to maintain over a season of competition?

Now of course proper 4Ts like DRs, KLX650s, XRs etc are not the target, but the “2T emulators” that let’s be honest had to lose ground to gain any over a ten yr period. Now in GP2 as well the new 4Ts are 2-3 seconds slower and this is progress?

That starter motor looks massive, was reading about the ADB test 300, there mech advise kick it when cold to get the best life out of the e-start drive gears.

Thought there was some copyright issue with GG first e-start maybe this one will be better in the long run.Would like to be lazy and not kick my bike also.
