Posted this vid showing how quickly a good day riding can change

Bike as dead as a doornail.
Lucky some other riders had a car not far away and went back and got a tow rope to take the bike to a crossroad.

I did the dash back to home base to get the 4×4 and trailer to retrieve dead bike and stranded rider.

    Cheers.

I am trusting you have helmet 2 helmet communication or Kath talks to herself

Will only be something simple you would think like a power fuse or broken lead, connector or the likes as it has no battery power at all by what I could see

Lets us know what you find pls

    Yes, we have Interphones !!

Bike was taken to yammy dealer and fixed so no dramas there. Just pissed that it put an end to a weekends riding.

    Well TB, thats the thing,

There was battery, plenty of battery, speedo and neutral indicator on when key turned.
But not a peep out of the starter motor.

When I came back to the bike, we let it sit a few minutes.
Then I did a quick check over all the electrical stuff I could … checking they were connected … hey presto bike starts.

Motor runs fine, Cathi jumps on and rides 3 metres and bike dies again, never to come back to life.

We get back to base and call NRMA …. he comes, but is useless, and doesnt know bikes but checked what he could and confirms battery and fuses all good.

We had no tools on the trail ( naughty I know, bumbag was back at base ), we will take them from now one as need spanners to take seat off to get to Battery on the XT250.

The intercoms are great we have been using them for nearly 18months now :) So there was battery power but the dealer didnt tell you what was wrong with it?

He did say what went wrong. Some connection somewhere had come loose.

He told Cathi when she picked it up.
And now that info is lost in the blonde hair and Oestrogen !!! ROFL !

You are a very brave man Riggs

For everybody else, it was the connector between the kill switch and the engine.
