On the Cameron ride Air filters and cleaning them while out on the trail was discussed and so I thought I would post up some pics of mine after some really dusty trails.

The outer filter has done its job.

The grease forms a good seal against the air box.

The inner filter is still nice and clean.

In my opinion a well oiled and sealed twin air filter is better left alone out on a big ride unless you have all the gear to do a good cleaning job with you.

A filter skin removed from my bike filter inlet at Silverton after 3 days in the dust.

I have always found them to be very effective, there was very little dust on the filter after removing the skin :)
