Well hi again, just got back into it,both riding and the forum, day two with the rego, went for a proper ride to day, full fuel n gear, hit the trails along the Georges river ravine out the back of Minto through to the start of Wederburn,Was having a good ride untill I desided to have a look down a overgrown rocky geting worse as yu go trail.Well I didn’t make it back up,droped the bike a couple of times but was determine to get it out untill the thing kept stalling when I droped it into gear, and its not the cluch, seems to loose spark or somthing.I’v never had to leave a bike in the bush ever and it was a long slog out with MX boots on.Too late to do any thing to day now, just got back, so I just hope that it is still in one piece tomorow after work when i can get back down there. I’m hoping to ride it out better, when im fresh I hope.
The bike is an RMX if any one has any idea’s on why it mite be doing this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers teza.

shit Teza. :( ..I’d be puttin a new spark plug in for sure mate. You may have loaded up the one in the bike. If it’s the case I’d be carrying a spare one on future rides for sure  Hope it all is good for ya tomorrow.

electrical thing?? Did you drain the carby?? I would be thinking that a bike that has been sitting around for a while might have a few things floating around in the carby

Yeh! thanks for the sugestions, but it starts ezy, revs, sounds normal till yu kick it into gear,Then dies, but not like the clutch is grabing, the engin seems to run free as it’s dying and if you click it back into nutral it picks up again. Beats me.

just a thought did those bikes have a thing on the stand so when its down you can not put into gear or some other safety device ?reckon ollie would now maybe check for wires near the stand or gear stickjust guessing

    Gday Teza
    Sounds electrical to me.
I have a drz and it has a switch on the stand that when the stand is down you cannot start the engine in gear but you can start it in neutral.
I dont know if the RMZ is the same but if it is, I would say its a faulty stand switch that is stuck in the open position maybe due to your previous spills up the hill.
You need to cut the wires that run to the switch and join the 2 wires together, or befor you do that, if you have an ohm meter test the switch to see if it is opening and closing.
The switch is located up near the hinge point of the stand.

Yes thats right it dose have a switch on the stand, but it never did any thing, mabe a good bash on the rock fixed it. Thanks for that, now when I think of it I did have the stand down cos the bike was on such an angle I couldn’t balance. Thanks again, just hope that it ok when i get back there. Then there’s that hill? Fingers crosed.
