The DR Recovery Ride was a top day out, leaving home at 4.45am and getting home at 9.00pm. Sore sides from laughing with Joe the whole day. Especially when he tried to start his bike back at home.
We met Wayne & the two Scotts at Singo and took off
All the fords were swollen but accessible and fun.

Nearly 20 km in with the ride in as challenging as it gets trying to double over slippery gullies with streams, logs, bog holes and poofter hills. DSC06200.jpg

The DR was found parked in the handicapped zone, and with a little bit of gentle persuasion started with DR gusto ready for action.

The track was heaps dryer than when Losta was there last and a gleam in his eye, Wayne hit the hill full noise and and and bloody hell… he just about made it to the top in one go. Wahooo.

Thanks Guys for the great ride it was a blast. Especially on the way back when we all were riding. Dan & Kerry from the farm were most welcoming and made up a grouse plate of nibbles and we sat under the shade and enjoyed lunch and swapped stories till it was getting toward the end of the day and the shadows were getting longer.

    Great RR Gav
Dan and Kerry put on a great feed at the end of the day and I did my best not to disappoint them by eating as much as I could.
A few beers and bourbons and we were off home.
Thanks to everyone that helped, I had a top day and I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves.

The boys did well. Especially Llewdaert and GavB who doubled me in. It only took us five hours or so but I think there were some sore bodies about. Great track.

They could have left the bloody caravan open for me. That big log out the front of the container was hollowed out for a dog kennel. I didn’t bother trying to sqeeze in there because I knew I’d be sleeping in one when I got home.

The KTM had to take over when the going got too rough for the XR, TB. You cant doubble in on your own as the conditions were rugged. Wayne did well to hold on and there was quite a few moments. The seats on these things are not built for two. The best bit was riding out and then racing Joe handlebar to handlebar on the crossings.
