Went for a last minute spin with Tryhard to test his Kato 690. Left Wyong at 8am, out through Ourmbah SF, Yaramalong, Letter A, Murrays Run, Laguna for fuel and then the back way to Woolombi for a break. It was a bit early for a beer for me and there was only coffee machine coffee, which offended my coffee drinking standards so we pressed on intending to go over to Putty via the Settlers Trail and back by Yengo Track.

When we got to the start of Settlers Trail at Paynes Crossing we found this

Anyone remember where we used to cross the sandy creek years ago?

After back tracking to Laguna we went into Watagan Creek Rd and up into the Watagans and then west again to the Letter A and to Gerry’s Café at Kulnura for a real coffee and a cheese cake that was so big and rich I was starting to feel sick.

Katgirl turned up and had a burger and a chat with us then took off on her adventure through the Watos.

Tryhard and I rode home with 250 odd Ks on the odo and perfect weather.

    A good day out.

    Hi Lotsa and Tryhard,

It was great to see a familar ‘dirty OBT face’ up at Jerry’s. Enjoyed the chat and you gave me confidence that the Adventure ride I was doing on my own was ok. Had a ball – Letter A, Yaramalong (by mistake) back to Letter A then worked my way to Wyong then back up Ourmbah SF to Jerry’s for a refuel then down to St Albins to Wiseman’s Ferry for a schooner of Rum & Coke/chips. Then a tar ride home to Hornsby via Galston. Got home at 7pm stuffed. I so need to find someone to do Adventure rides that ride at my pace….

    Losta,

    Try -32.8635, 151.0674.

This spot come up on the topo map and also seems familiar, although it was about 12 years ago. I remember when entering the creek the water came over the bonnet of the landcruiser (momentarily) It may pay to have an alternative if its too deep

    Adam.

Thanks Adam, looks like an easement from the road over the creek to the trail.

Glad to hear you made it home safe. Now you know where you’re going you shouldn’t have any trouble posting up a ride gathering and leading at your pace. The more the merrier.

    Hi TB,

    I would like that alot.

I’m running solo now if you know what I mean. It happened last night so I’m looking forward to getting out as much as possible and riding my blues away.

What bike were you on Kat, the CR or the XR?

I don’t mind a nice leisurely ride either so post up your next outing and I am sure you will get some takers.
