Heard a choppper yesterday afternoon so out for a closer look. Turned out to be the police chopper with a copper hanging out either side.
Back in December we had a couple of young blokes coming up past our place around 4.30 – 5.00am which seemed pretty suss. Turned out they had a few plants in our bush. 2 and a half weeks later the local coppers turned up but they were gone. So I reckon this visit was to check out that area as they didn’t look at the bush on the other side of the property.
While the chopper was flying around 2 white unmarked paddy wagon’s came up the road and parked out the front.

Coral said she heard that they are checking all of the Hastings so I hope they have more luck.

This might be a dumb question but….why do they pull the plants out?…why dont they just nuke em on the spot with round up?..

Not really my field of expertise, but i have allways wondered.
Any one know?

Having been required to officially ‘burn’ a few piles of the stuff (we usually do it with pallets to get it going!)

I think that if they left it and poisoned it someone could come along and still consume it and possibly get sick ??
therefore it could be a liability thing!?!?!
I know they test it and photograph it etc prior to us torching it..

Cheers..

I would suggest that they are doing “high profile policing” making out they are actually doing something in the war against drugs, that is why the news paper reporters where invited along.(jump in here anytime you like Scotty)

It is a lot easier to find a dope patch than it is to find real criminals. Stoners would be a whole heap easier to deal with than the Meth cooks and addicts I would imagine.Having a hit on a scoob is a heinious crime in the polititians books. The irony of it is, if you read the story they very rarely catch anyone. They’d do better if they were in there uprooting Lantana bushes if you ask me.

They could do better if they just charged everybody that wanted to get stoned a $100 licence fee and make some money for the State, as opposed to roaring around in choppers costing us a motza for the sake of a few dacka plants.

Not as bad as a long term drinker I would imagine. The point I was making, was that they are pushing shit up hill with their prohibition policies. It doesn’t seem to be working, they tried it with grog in the early 1900’s in America and had to give up in the end.
There has to be a better way of policing it.

…. or a long term cigarette smoker or a long term drinker, I’m with Mick on this one, charge ’em all and spend the money convincing them that dope is bad, same as they do with alcohol and tobacco. The crims will always find a way to feed the market, you have to get rid of the market and prohibition doesn’t work, hasn’t worked in the past and is unlikely to work in the future. B)

100% dusty mates missus works in that area as well and it’s proven I know a user and he is headed that way, wouldnt be able to tell him but  Anyway yes drink, gigs all bad as well Iva very true. Just because we can’t stop something doesnt mean it should be made legal should it? Should terrorism be made legal? Just charge a fee per bombing or kill
Maybe speeding we can’t stop that, you could just pay extra to speed  Or a stealing fee, pay and then you can steal shit :P

I don’t have an answer ok :P but I agree with they are all bad but will can’t just legalise things because we can’t stop it all together. There are things that should be changed, some things should be legal and some should be illegal but really what can you do

Smells of a PR exercise to me. When they go after prosecutions they do this in a much more covert manner. Either way the more of the shit they burn the better. Less people I have to deal with that have cannabis induced schizophrenia.

The only reason the government would legalise it is so they could tax it
