As TB is heading north this week he suggested we go for a ride on the weekend. I spent the day plotting a loop around the Northern Rivers, some of this ride will be experimental but most is just good riding though National parks.
This will be an adventure ride covering over 950km :cheer: of dirt roads and tracks in 2 days with an overnight stay somewhere on Friday, this could be in a tent or a pub stay depending on weather and where we end up.Meeting Grafton McDonalds Car park 12.30
This is the route we are going take.. Here
Anyone is welcome but a minimum of 250km fuel range is needed.

I’ve edited the kms TB , I didn’t include my place to Grafton or lismore back home. It’s still not 400 km though  Not sure where I went wrong their
Still it looks possible and their are a heap of get out points if needed.

February 15, 2011 at 8:31 am #196862The weather seems to be coastal, yamba is copping a heap but looks like it’s not making it to where we’re heading
Everyone I talk to says the Old Glen Innes road is a 130kms of top riding and the remainder , no-one seems to know !!!
Will be an adventure for sure !!
February 15, 2011 at 10:15 am #196868Sorry Guys I’m out
My bike was surging a lot on the nabiac ride and when I pulled the carby out to check it, it has a slight tear in the diaphram. I’ve ordered the part but it won’t be here for two weeks.
It was lucky I checked it because the trottle cable was only hanging together by one strand of wire.
I’m now getting Big Birta ready for the High Country Ride.
Have a great ride and I’ll look forward to hearing about all about the fun I’m missing out on.

The Old Glen Innes road is a great ride, we came from the Glen Innes end, there were some pretty scatty gravel corners on the way down but once it flattened out it was great riding feet on the pegs sliding the big girls.
A short tunnel on the way

Good shot of the tunnel , hard work for the poor buggers that dug it by hand
