Opal Tour – Anzac Long weekend

Day 1
Friday 22nd April.Leave Tamworth ar sparrows.
Dirt roads through Somerton,Borah crossing,Barraba,Upper Horton,over the Mt Kaputar ranges,Gurley and camp the night at a mates place at Malowa (Sth West of Moree)in the middle of a paddock with a natural hot spring that comes up outa the ground.

Day 2
Saturday 23rd April
Malowa to Lightning ridge.Pass through Collarenabri.Arrive at the ridge lunch time.Go on a tour through some opal mines..something like this.. http://www.blackopaltours.com.au/tours.html … then hit the piss at the Lighting ridge services club :cheer: ..goes off from what i hear.Stay the night in a pub or motel. Day 3
Sunday 24th April
Lightning ridge to Boggabri.Through Walget,Come by chance, Pilliga and the Pilliga State forrest.Stay the night in a pub in Boggabri or at a mates place just outa town.

Day 4
Monday 25th April .Anzac day.
Dawn service at Boggabri.Accross to Manilla and back to Tamworth.Arriving mid morning..lunch time at the very latest.
Then you can all piss off home.

Anyone travelling is more than welcome to stay at my place on the Thursday night 21st April.

Could get lost in the Pilliga scrub…but that is half the fun
Don’t have to have an ADV bike…but you need to carry your stuff.
