There will be a riders briefing at Capertee at

7.45am if you don’t attend the briefing you don’t

go on the ride. The briefing will be 15mins

before the ride away time because

we don’t want people to have helmets

on or still getting dressed we will

need your full attention for this ride

    to work

The 3rd annual Old Bull Birthday Ride will be held on the 28th and 29th of May. As last year it will be a ride to the camp and ride return. There will only be one group ride lead this year (no adventure loop). If there are any adventure rides wanting to attend I can send you some tracks to get you there as you are more than welcome.

The ride will start at Capertee in the public area opposite the servo at 7.30am on Sat the 28th of May. There will be support vehicles to carry your gear (gear means your 20litre Jerry can FULL, your bag, swag (or Tent) and an esky that you should try and share with someone else to conserve space) it will cost you $20 to have your gear transported and will be payable to Bubba the red neck support driver, no pay no gear carried. Your jerry can will need to be full as there are no service stations anywhere during the whole ride.

After some discussions with Mal5.1 and Medogrocket the camping area has been moved, we are no longer camping near Sofala or on the river due to the numbers and logistics.

The ride will start as organised at 8am ( that’s 8am ride away not nearly ready or front up that’s ride away ) we will ride as a group to to the camp area. There will be some breaks, there will be some grade 4 sections for those that want to do them and normal twin track for those that don’t.

Once at the camp area you will be able to setup, have some lunch, refuel or nothing. There will be after loops run from the camp and back all afternoon of ALL different grading meaning there will be a ride for everybody. We don’t want people wandering off on their own rides either or in small groups because the groups will be coming and going certain directions to prevent accidents.

A load of fire wood will be delivered and we are organising water for the site. Again there are no shops, pubs, toilets etc at the camp area.

Some of the prizes will be auctioned off by our celebrity auctioneer Bollocks all money raised goes to the Tuff Jugg and the Kidney Foundation so pack some coin as well as you will get a bargain and it goes to a good cause.

A generator and lighting stands will be on site, there maybe limited phone service but I wouldn’t count on it.

And you want to know where the camp area is, come on the ride

As per every birthday ride there will be prizes a plenty I can assure you. At this stage I am hoping to have over 20 individual prizes not including the Old Bull Of The Year which was a Helmet last year. There will be commemorative stickers to all attend as per other years it is shaping to be the biggest bunch of prizes ever by a long shot. There is no cap on the numbers of riders and again everyone of every skill is welcome and will be accommodated.

Sutto’s main Old Bull contact Scotty will be attending and we are hoping to have more of our sponsors attending also, come on Steve (Adventure Moto).

The ride back will be aimed to have us back at Capertee between 2 and 3pm for those that have to travel distances. There is plenty of space to park the cars which is safe enough that I will park my car there for the night. Capertee is on the Mudgee road between Mudgee and Lithgow.

This post will be kept updated so look it over if you are going in the weeks ahead until the ride.

Key points to make the weekend work for everyone

    – It will be cold, very cold.

    – To have your gear transported you have to pay Tiny your $20 donation. If you don’t pay Tiny you don’t get a lucky door ticket. Means you miss out on prizes

    With so many people going can we just use a little common sense when packing please. Each person we have worked out should only need;
    1 X 20 litre jerry can
    A folding chair
Back pack with over night clothes
    Swag or tent
Esky with food and drink, be best if you can buddy up with a mate as far as the esky goes
That’s it really you don’t need anything else. There are close to or more than 60 people going we need to move all the gear. No gear bags (to big) as you can wear the same riding gear both days. If you wish to argue with Tiny that your bag isn’t too big, good luck

    – Please bring cans instead of bottles they crush up and are easier to carry away and throw in a plastic bag for your rubbish

    – Make sure you know how the cornerman system works link here

    – Bring your lunch for Sat and Sun. Saturdays lunch can stay with the support vehicles because we will be at the camp for lunch before the afternoon loops

    – Bring Cash for the auctions cause there are a heap of good gear up for auction

    – We are gathering at Blaxlands McDonalds at 5.30am Saturday morning if you wish to follow

    – Riders briefing 7.45am for everyone going, you don’t need to be dressed to ride but need to be at the briefing, miss it you miss the ride. Capertee is I reckon 1hr 45mins from Penrith

    – If you bring to much the support guys will ask you to half it in the carpark or they won’t take it !!

    – If you bring to much the support guys will ask you to half it in the carpark or they won’t take it !!

    Important note for all attending

    * This is not a paid ride, there is no money changing hands for the ride just someone going for a ride and you have decided to follow. No one is responsible for you, your bike or your belongings. If you are not happy at any stage with any part of the ride, you are free to leave and not participate, remember you are joining of you own free will. If you have a friend that’s a fancy talking lawyer stay home with him and have fun together.

    * This is someone going on a trail ride, don’t see the word race there do you? No because its not a race. If you are a hero racer or a hero stay home with old mate and his lawyer buddy.
There are many hidden obstacles, rocky sections, blind crests and curves, it may be dusty, it may be muddy so please ride within your limits, if you feel you are slow (not that you will be) you will be faster then a guy laying on ground waiting for help, don’t spoil it for yourself and everybody else.

    * If you ride in such a way as to endanger yourself or anyone else on the ride you will be told to leave, this includes passing people and such trail ethics, leaders decision is final if you dont like this or anything else here DONT COME

Old Bulls must also state that this is NOT an organised paid event and that no organisational function is undertaken or initiated by Old Bulls with respect to such rides. There are no set tracks/ routes and members ride at their own time and discretion. Old Bulls forum is a medium used for organizing rides by members and in attendance Old Bulls takes no responsibility or liability for injury or damage to persons or personal property that may occur
