Don’t really know how much rain fell on the Sth Coast today, but it was heaps.
Heaps & heaps & bloody heaps, never ridden in anything like it.
Myself, Brains, KTMJono & SteveRicho headed out from Albatross at about 9am, within 30 seconds we were all soaked to the bone.
Torrential rain interrupted by steady, heavy showers was the order of the day, goggles were ditched after a couple k’s so we could actually see where we going.
This was supposed to a cruisy grade 2 ride from Nowra to Wandy….yeah right, this ride turned into a search mission for food & fuel.
A search mission regularly interrupted by massively swollen creeks that were just simply impassable.
I’ve been riding around this area for about 8yrs, and fairdinkum, I’ve never seen anything like the conditions we rode in today.
Many tracks were just unrecognizable, top soil completely washed away, trees down, bog holes full, creeks that you normally wouldn’t get your feet wet were know 100meters across & waste deep….
In the end, we had to back track because we just couldn’t get through the creeks.
Thanks to Brains for sharing lead/sweep duties and letting me de-drown your bike a couple of times.
Welcome to the Sth Coast Steve & Jono….
Both these guys both had big grins on their dials all day in really trying conditions and dodgy directions from the lead which meant their grade2 ride quickly escalated to a gd3+
Brains got some pics/vids if his phone dries out.
cheers
