    Great day out
Tim and I arrived at the Pines about an hour early
So we took the bikes off the trailer and mucked about a bit
Saw some dude in a van rock up and unloaded 4 Husky’s (the four legged variety)
He had a strange looking scooter which he harnessed to the dogs before heading off along the tracks :silly:
Al and Mitch were on time so we geared up (well there was one bloke who had forgoten his riding duds so he wore wet weather pants all day, good one Mitch  )
The day did not start well with me picking up a 2 1/2″ nail even before we got to the singles ;) Thanks to all for the help in changing the tube :) Then on removing my bike from the log stand I broke my gear lever ;) Fitted a new gearshift and we were eventually on our way.
Rode the main rd to Honda corner then punched through all the great singles to the Basin. From there we hit our first of many rock hills and continued west following all the singles including the now very rough zig zag mesh hills.
I haven’t ridden the Basin Run for well over 12 months and found it to be probably more challenging due to the natural erosion on those bloody rocky hills
Dropped down Expert hill and looped around the Koala Trail to link up with the Great North Walk via a nice snotty hill.
Rode down to the bottom of the valley and then a right turn took us up to Wave Rock Rd. Al went first and did good until he flipped the Kato breaking his rear guard :(
Tim went exceptionally well having a go at the extreme section almost making it. I opted for Als detour which is by no means easy but definately easier than the way Tim went ;) With Tim having a go at the extreme route I kinda feel as though I am getting left behind :( I guess its gotta happen sooner or later. Mitch took the chicken track which consisted of riding the main rd back up to meet him at T (well done Mitch for calling it mate, better to ride another day than getting smashed up)
We then took on another tight little single which brought us out on Old Mill Rd from which we did a couple of loops and headed home.
Well done to everybody for coming along
    Some pics to come
    Cheers

Only travelled 65kms but it was pretty hard going at times
I’d never done this loop from the Pines and was worried about fuel but now I know we can fit some more hills and singles in. :woohoo:
Bring on the next Basin Run

    Nice pics Murph.
Another quality ride it seems. Drove through the mountains last weekend. Awesome days for riding and I knew you guys were in there somewhere having a ball. Darn it.

Murph doesn’t have a mobile phone, let alone a gps thingy.

Amazingly it’s all in his head. And I don’t think he knows any easy tracks either. :P

    G-day Scotto
We will probably be doing a “Southend Watos” run either 28th or 29th of this month. If your not going on the “OBT Birthday” ride you are more than welcome mate. :woohoo:
Mal was right no phone or GPS thingy’s. Technology has left me behind. :(
Keep an eye on the “Ride Gatherings” section

We have cleared Pole Point, Boyds, Killer and Burnout (up to Siding Rd), so should be good to ride now, if you go that way. Unfortunately can’t join you as we (OBMCC) have a a race at Denman on the 29th. Have fun:(

    Wow
Sounds like you’ve been busy KTM_Rules
We usually ride all of the southern side singles on the way out and then cross Watagan Forest Drive down Tunks, up Hithcocks and around the Maculata on the way back.
