Last weekend while staying in Newcastle I took Kieran my youngest son quad biking at Stockton sand dunes. Kieran has only just turned 8 and watch as excited as a dog with two, well you get the idea.

I contacted “The Quad Bike King” and booked us in for the Saturday arvo session. Their communication was excellent quick the conformation e mail and text was complete and covered any questions I had.

On the Saturday it started raining and Kieran was worried it would be called off but they run the tours rain, hail or shine and haven’t cancelled a tour in 10 years the guys were saying when we got chatting before the ride.

When we got there it’s was raining, the guys really looked after Kieran who was getting nervous by that stage. They ran through everything with him and even made the thumb throttle a little lighter for his little hands.

Here I am waiting to ride off

    And away we go

Kieran rode a 90cc two stroke and I rode a 250cc fours stroke I think it was. The leaders and the sweeps did a great job as we headed south from the Lavis Lane start point. We eventually ended up at the Sygna ship wreck.

    Thumbs up from Kieran

We had a ball and I was very proud of Kieran as that was a big quad compared to him.

After the ride I spoke with the owner and he said that that also run rides for more experienced riders and would also look after any Old Bulls that wanted to have a fang.

I`m only interested in the quad rides on that beach, not any dirt bike rides there, so I`m out of the beach ride before its even posted.

Well if you organise a quad tour there mate I am in for sure. Maybe the same weekend as the other ride cover all bases ;)

BTW I am not doing as many rides as before now and am looking forward to a lot more in the pack riding like the birthday ride this year. Mal and Medogrocket doing saturday means I am free to ride wherever :woohoo:
