Big day 180kms done, explored and come up with a ripper route
The day wasn’t without it’s tests
Great singles pine forest stuff that everyone can do Rocket you will love it :cheer:
Ultra Heavy Duty tubes are recommended (read ultra heavy duty, Michelin, Bridgestone or Metzler at a push)
Will do a report up tomorrow night, Chris has the only video or pictures
Thanks to all that went because we didn’t muck around much or stop much if you don’t count 1-3/4s at Yetholme

April 25, 2011 at 1:48 am #200017Guys, sorry I didn’t get your message til just now. I was home all day but was outside working on stuff. You guys were only about 2 klms from my place and full compliment of tools.
April 25, 2011 at 1:50 am #200018Sounds good TB.
Let me know which hills you included so we don’t double up and do them both days. We can always go down the ones you takes us up.
Medogrocket and I will pull our fingers out and get a route sorted in the next couple of weeks.
Heavy duty tubes are the go. I think I have a Kenda tube and run about 10 – 12 psi and no rear flat for the last 2 years. I have a mousse tube in the front and will have one on the rear by the birthday ride.
Yetholme is a bit slow atm. Did find anything on the menu without cury in it.

April 25, 2011 at 1:55 am #200019Thanks for an awesome day!!!!:woohoo: 180km of great riding and exploring new tracks with the odd hiil climb and a little dusty at times, but thats life. Thanks to everone who came along. It was a great ride and I had a blast. I only fell off twice (while stopped,
short man syndrome)
Some tracks are very boney/rocky and as TB has suggsted I would recommend to anyone wanting to do this ride to do yourself (and others) a favour and drop into Sutto,s and buy yourself a set of Michelin ULTRA HEAVY DUTY Tubes with at least a front spare with the tools to change one (if required). I put a pair in my bike and reckon they were awesome and had no problems all day, especially after the crap i was riding in sometimes.
A special thanks to TB for inviting and taking me and I can,t wait for the Birthday Ride. I am sure it will be awesome.Cheers,

April 25, 2011 at 11:10 am #200031Awesome day, 180kms of good fast pace. One of my fave riding areas, some really nice singles and some narly singles, good fast twin trails, lots of water crossings, some good uphill and downhills it had it all.. I have about 3 hours of helmet cam footage taken on my new drift innovation HD170 that was bar mounted and it has come out pretty awesome I am editing some of the good bits and will upload today.
Thanks TB, Little Man, Rebore, Kieran, Madge (Where are you?) for a great day and TB for organising the ride.
Cheers
Chris.April 25, 2011 at 1:37 pm #200038Chris,
Couldn’t agree more, what a fantastic ride. Great bunch of guys, aweome terrain, well thought out and organised. A credit to all involved. I hate to bring it up but many thanks to my “pit crew” for the tyre change/tools/tube/minimal sledging.April 25, 2011 at 5:05 pm #200048Good to see you signed up madge, I’m suprised TB hasn’t started on you yet, but just to get started, next time pack one of these in your kit.

April 25, 2011 at 8:00 pm #200053Thanks for the tip mate, i will be packing both next time. That school boy error will not be repeated. The phillips isnt mine mate, i only use kinchrome! TB, did have a small shot earlier (newbie no tools) but he was quite kind concidering the inconvenience i caused.
