Just joined the forum, I’m 47, live in Baulkham Hills, my shed is called the Skunkworks.
I have a numebr of bikes in various states of restoration. In the shed currently
BMW R80G/S Dakar – main ride
BMW R80G/S
BMW R65LS
BMW R90/6 Project bike + enough parts to build some more R series
Yamaha XTZ660 for rebuild
Suzuki DRZ400E current project
Honda XR460/4 – Built for the Scrapheap Adventure Ride, which I run over Easter to Raise funds for Down Syndrome NSW. This year we raised $58,000.
DRZ is being rebuilt and I will post a thread in the Suzuki Section, it will have a new crank, 434cc JE Piston kit and am seriously thinking of a Rekluse as well.
More an open road Adventure rider, but with the DRZ looking at some shorter day rides in the trails.
I am a regular on Advrider as Pezz _gs

May 3, 2011 at 2:43 pm #200546Welcome to the old bulls Pezz.
You’ve got a lot of stuff in your shed, must be some shed.
I have heard of the Scrapheap Adventure Ride sounds like a good cause.
There are a few adventure riders on the site and i am sure you will hear from them.
Like all on this site they are a little strange but seem ok!
Unfortunately i do not have an adventure bike but this is more to do with funds rather than interest.:unsure:Rebore.
May 3, 2011 at 2:50 pm #200549Thanks Rebore
I think Im the Patron Saint of Lost Causes sometimes
I get old crappers and rebuild them into something.
The CB400/4 was a ‘Gift’ for the Scrapheap Adventure Ride, it has a reputation for unreliability, reinforced by a split fuel tank at the start of this years ride. Motor has a 460cc Yoshi kit fitted and is as sweet as!!
The XTZ660 was a freebie/ contra to halp with the build of an Airhead Adventure bike. I also work for beer
May 3, 2011 at 2:52 pm #200550G’day Pez and welcome to the site.
Just been looking at you DRZ Project, being a DRZ man it is very interesting. You could always grab a set of Motard wheel for it as well.
May 3, 2011 at 2:57 pm #200557Thanks Jeffro
That will be the plan, but I really want to explore some more offroad tracks around blue mountanins, so no longer a priority.
Warp 9 do a good budget wheels http://www.warp9racing.com/

May 3, 2011 at 9:38 pm #200576Hi Pezz welcome to OBT , sounds like we have very similar interests , I own a DRZ also which I used for last years Cameron Corner attempt and I’ve recently bought a Tenere and got a few kms under the wheels in the last couple of months.
The more I look for new adventure riding tracks in this country the more I’m amazed at what you find and the people you meet along the way.The scapheap challenge is a great ride that I’ve followed closely on adv this year , well done !
