Well what a great fun and casual day out we had today. Get home on Thursday night with a message from STM which is always good ;) to see if i was free this weekend.

I thought i may ask the jinxed DRZ to come along knowing it had some work done to it so it may stay going.

met up with STM and Tdriver and the old man and i suited up and we headed out to a ride that was funny fun and fast all at the same time.

Highlight for me would have been ridge line and the pace that STM, the old man and i were doing along the top.

and Tdriver coming out of a new trail i have never been on and saying he was waiting for sweep to help him pick his bike up till he relised it was him.

seating on top of 2 step checking out the view.’

trying to work out why STM rode straight past widdow maker before i got to play (had to go back and play sorry STM)

a 4wd track that STM thought he would park his 250 across to block the rode

All in all just another kick ass day in Coffs where the dirt was perfect and the riders were a crack up

    It was a beauty!

Having Corey8 and Biggeral always means that the lead rider is going to get some heat from behind and today was no exception :woohoo:
Along with the ever reliable Tdriver we had a good crew of four and the trail conditions were just perfect. Most of the summer grass has died off and after riding every weekend for the last month the singletracks are 8 inch wide corridors of sweet dark soil and traction is beyond compare. All the classic sections were in good shape with Tunnel Ball and Three Way highlights but Ridge Runner was the pick today. I took off with Biggeral in hot pursuit and Corey8 on him with Tdriver running sweep duties. I was having an epic run and I could still hear Al behind so I took it right to the edge of my comfort zone and the three of us locked into a three bike train. You know you have had a good run when a man in his mid fifties lets out a howl like a frothing grommie
We had only turned our bikes off when Tdriver pulled in behind and we all grinned at what was the defining moment of the ride. Now we were on a roll and the pace kept on from there. Leading a small group of quality riders means I was on the hammer the whole time so at the top of Jurassic Park I sent Corey and Al ahead and soon lost them as I submerged myself in a bog hole
Towards the end of the ride we heard some bikes and it was none other than phelixpremixer with two others. I rarely see anyone out here and when I do it was a fellow Old Bull. Gold!
I never ride other peoples bikes as I am too into enjoying my own but after being a little curious about a 450 I swapped with Tdriver who was also keen to try my 250. I can honestly say that I am not in the market for a 450 and am perfectly happy with my bike. Don’t get me wrong, Tdrivers bike is set up beautifully and he has done some good mods on it but for me and my style of riding I think the 250F is a good fit.
We have a great scene going up here right now and it is chiefly thanks to OBT for bringing us together. B)
