what a weekend eh fellas!!!
755k round trip for me……
I think most everyone has detailed the ride in previous posts…..
In no particular order some of ups and downs from my perspective were:-
– Lefty taking the verbal punishment he got all weekend and it seemed to just roll off him…
– Seeing Lefty picking up the XR on Moose’s crossing… :woohoo:– Seeing one and hearing about the few offs DJ had…
– Working out my friggin muffler end cap fell off somewhere near Bathurst… Wood duck!!
– Sticking to Gaz a bit too close at moments when he decided to have moments causing me to bail into the bush…
– Seeing Gaz go down on the fine bull dusted slippery ass track… Looked worse than it ended up being…– Riding up right in reverse about 6 meters down a hill before finally realising I should probably dismount..
– Smashing my back into the side of a large crater during said dismount… Ouch…….. :pinch:
– Not seeing the easy smooth ride up and around said craters…– The water crossings… They were actually fun.. The big one looked worrisome but wasn’t bad at all….
– Saturday nights camp.. Was a great night with great company and some great stories… I really like these moments of a ride…
– riding directly into the Sun Saturday evening racing to Hill End, then riding directly into the sun leaving camp Sunday morning… hahahaha…..
I had a blast this ride.. It was long, challenging and forced me to push myself, even to the point where I just had to have a break…
And as always it amazing watching Boulder jump into action at every step of the way wherever trouble rears its ugly head…
Thanks to TB for Running a great ride off the top of his head, lefty for the laughs and Gaz showing me we will make a good team during Camerons…
some photos I took.. Not the greatest camera man but some random shots anyway….
Motley Crew I believe this shot was called..
Gathering the vittles at Hill End Pub… the Old Bulls sticker is still on the right window of the door at the top…
Boulder and DJ helping Lefty push start the XR Sunday morning as she was being a stubborn bitch…
No Worries boys job well done!!
One of the many funny moments of Lefty using something to elevate himself to start the XR..
Motley Crew outside of Sofala on the road to Sunny Corner…
Yo Wood Duck you lost your End Cap!!!
Lefty and Boulder working on the Flat…
Gaz’s Front tire I believe has had enough… :woohoo:
September 21, 2011 at 12:23 am #209396So with everyone going we sooted up the Bridle track. I always love riding the Bridle trail, everytime I ride it its special and this early morning was same same. The bluff is always a highlight when your blue tooth ride partner hasnt ridden it before. We stopped for about 30 seconds to view Roothog crossing (the river crossing at the start of the XR650 video HERE)
At the end of the bridle trail I programed the Aldi for shortest route to Sofala and it was a cracker of a route, so good we will be using it on the way home from CameronsWe regrouped at the end where Lefty could use an old rusty trailer to start the big XR
We rode from Sofala along the Turon on the rocky river run, great fun ! up to Mt Horriable and through Crashes poo track. We ran head on into the Sunny Corner rally riders. A few quick detours a run through a couple of singles with the rally bikes and we got to camp Galey, it was empty
On to Yetholme servo, made a mess of their floor, fueled both the bikes and us and away we went for Kanagra Walls, we turned off and headed for Kowmung crossing and Dingo Dell. Dingo dell was the crossing we got stopped at on the Caves to Caves birthday ride a few years ago
As we approached Kowmung the was a big arse puddle, as DJ said I climbed the bank and scooted around and started through Kowmung. Halfway through I here these funny grunts and noises and then help! help! DJ said help me my bike is upside down in the water  , Sorry mate I am busy. Lefty helped it was all good
So the boys had a crack, first was a righted DJ

September 21, 2011 at 12:55 am #209423We left Kowmung which has a rocking hill out, steep, rutted and having taken groups up there before on enduro bikes well I know it can be a problem. Once I started up the hill the I knew it would be fine if you gave the bike in front room, constant throttle and had some momentum you would be fine. There was an easy option at the big rutted out crater if you needed it. We got to the top everyone fronted except for Krusty and Boulder but he was sweeping. We waited, Lefty said he would go back, Gaz would have a dart and DJ and I would go down to Dingo Dell crossing.
Dingo Dell, here it is a couple of years ago, Crash kicked its arse BTW you euro trash riders the 300 shitbox stopped twice and the Old XR just powered through
Crash had gone through and over to look at Kowmung for our group on the day,
Dr D just went over and back for, well for, well I am not sure  But it was fun to watch and he gave it a good crack as it was not an easy crossing on the dayBack to the is report

This day the creek was just a puddle, we crossed and waited everyone turned up.

We were set to leave Krusty said he had a sore back from his crash on the climb out of Kowmung so we had a breather. After a cig and a breather for Krusty, fixing his bags which had again broken the straps during his fall we got underway but not for long

September 21, 2011 at 11:50 am #209428After Lefty and Boulder changed the tyre we were off again, we come out on to a wide twin train, which was straight in sections and plenty of holes to keep us on our toes! The wind had picked up, and blew the dust right of the track so it was good riding conditions!
We made our way onto some logging roads and the eventually onto another great trail, that linked up with one we used on the TTT rally a few weeks before!
Talk about spoilt, it was plenty of fun on the KTM and was just as fun on the DR! It was a long section of straight track on the top of a ridge, with a few half decent size hills along the way! Heaps of fun!! The road turns off and theres more fun running through the forrest, with 3rd and 4th gear turns, up hill, great stuff to end the quicker sections of the day!
After a quick regroup, the road pops out onto the wombeyan caves road, which we followed to Mittagong!
To start with this road is not my favourite road in the world, but that paticular sunday, we had some disagrence! In two different sections, i hit the ground, and both times were coming into dry cause ways, with heaps of loose stuff on top!!
Oh well, what do u do!
We eventually made our way into Mittagong, for a pub stop!! A couple of coldies to top off a great weekend!!! We finished it off with a ride throught hill top thirlmeer, the oaks, and home!!What a weekend, Thanks to everyone that made it along and made it enjoyable!
A Special thanks to Lefty for helping me pick up my bike, a couple of times i think!
Thanks to Boulder for your patience, and only laughing at my record stack, around the camp fire!!!And to Thanks to TB for some wicked riding, loads of awsome tracks, again your patience, and your words of wisdom as always!!
Cant wait for the next one, And Camerons!!!!!
