Looking to try and locate some parts for a 1971 DT1 which I’m starting to restore

The bike is 90%complete, and was looking to reach into the vast amount of knowledge and information that the members of this site have to find the remaining parts.

The obvious ones like ebay are already being scouted but hoping people might know of good local wreckers yards etc, etc.

All info would be helpful, ;)

Mike – sign up for a photo bucket account. Upload pics to photo bucket by clicking ‘upload’ (lol!) and selecting the destination the pics are stored on your PC or camera memory card if inserted. Photo bucket will upload them, when its done click the blue save and continue button.

To post them here, hover the mouse over the picture until the code is displayed below it, left click on the code that says IMG or forum code and then just just paste it into text box on this site.

It sounds complicated but once you’ve done it its really easy :)

PS – I’m not jealous now I know you’ve got the ugly version hahahaha!!!!! :D

I’ve been restoring a 72 DT2 for the past 5 years. Plenty of parts available ebay usa. The last part I was chasing for a long time was some decent forks. A guy from ozvmx came to the rescue and sold me a pair so I’m on the home straight. Just need to find some time!!

Hey Zorozz my dad had the 72 250 DT2 was a good old reliable bike, the points didnt like water though and you had to give it a real mans boot to get her fired up. As a 12 year old I often took her out for a blast with out the old man knowing that was until the Biatch kicked me back and nearly broke my foot :S

Reason why they are rare Mike is because they where mud catchers and jammed up your front wheel. Preston Petty plastic mudgaurds where the trick bit of kit for these old rattlers ;)
