As I didnt get this one of the ground in September

    http://obtrailriders.com/index.php/forum?view=topic&catid=79&id=130656&limitstart=0

the new date is 3rd and 4th of November below is the details

I am putting a route together for a two day around 800km navigation ride starting and finishing at St Albans pub (near Wisemans Ferry) Navigation is meaning full GPS ride. The route if you want it will be loaded on your GPS at the pub Friday night only (no GPSs will be loaded Saturday morning I will be long gone) route I believe will be suitable for all bikes if ridden to the conditions.

You will need a 300km minimum fuel range (remember a fuel bladder or the likes can be used to extend your range) and must have your own GPS that can have a map loaded on it. No 300km fuel range, no GPS, no ride. There is no support vehicle, no cornermen, no sweeps. It would be best if people rode in at least pairs or more so they would know if their buddy is missing or down as seen on the Adventure Moto nav ride.

The route will head to an overnight stay that will be announced a month before so you can sort accommodation / camping whatever you desire (Bathurst or Tarana or Hillend, or Orange or Mudgee or Capertee or O’connell not sure yet) . I reckon camping gear is a must should you for whatever reason not make the overnight stay or continue past it on day one.

This is not a race or a show of how big you think your dick is, I would hate to see a repeat of the Adventure Moto APC prerun with people getting flown out in helicopters for whatever reason. Also if you decide for whatever reason to leave the track please let someone know what you are doing.

Numbers won’t be limited it isn’t an organised ride in anyway shape or form I am offering you a route and recommendations as to distances between fuel etc.

Having done a bit of work on the route this weekend I can recommend the below places for your saturday night. Total route distance is about 850 ish kilometres give or take. Last minute adjustments the day before will change that a little. Anyone wanting the route before hand its not going to happen because I need to do a section on thursday night and will only get it onto the computer friday before I leave for St Albans.
There is one hard option and one easy I will explain when I load your GPS

Its only my opinion but I like the keep it simple stupid saying with my GPS’s. I run two if one fails I have another. I like simple electronic devices that do just navigation and have no interest in storing music or pictures on it. I use my Garmin CSX60 for storing my planned route it’s easy to follow and very accurate. I use it to check tracks or bypasses around obstacles. I have purchased software in it now.
I also store a simplified route (less way points) on my other GPS which is a Garmin Zumo 220. The 220 is also like your average car GPS, has a bigger screen and all the basic features that it’s bigger more expensive cousins have the 550 and 660. I use it when I need locate say fuel, nearest town or and point of interest. It has a more basic software in it and doesn’t always have all the back tracks but will always navigate a direction to the nearest road / track to get out of trouble.

Short answer I use a Garmin 60CSX and Garmin Zumo 220 both hard wire.

I also own the more expensive ones I listed in a Zumo 550 the 220’s big brother and a CS62 the 60’s updated cousin but use the others

    Hope that makes sense.

    TB.

Sounds good Pete. Should know in a week about the wifes work roster. Looks promising though.

Hey PTW do you want to hook up and ride down together. I seem to remember a track out the back of your place you wanted to show me.

Just before Mick got his glasses run over
