When can I come and play
September 1, 2010 at 11:52 am #186825Well what an afternoon! Had 3 hours sleep after night shift and then packed up the Husky and headed out to the Capt’s place for a spin on the new toys for the new show.
I jumped on the YZ first because a racing style quad scares me. It’s been nearly 10 years since I rode a YZ250 and not that much has changed. They still have a crap load of power and just keep reving. It took about 10min to gently work up to using the band for some little wheelies and then chasing the Raptor around was so much fun as the YZ turns so quick and the Raptor doesn’t  .
The rear shock on the YZ must be set up for motocross as it is way to firm and the rebound is way to quick. Every time you hit a small rock or bit of grass it bucked and tried to eject the pilot  . But Furious will sort that out soon enough and a few other pilot comfort issues. Then the bike will even more fun to ride. :woohoo:
The Raptor was different to ride at the start. It’s short and narrow with a big grunty engine in it. It took a lot longer to get the hang of. It bounces around on the rough stuff and if you try to fight it it’ll wear you out real quick. After about 30 min of trying different riding styles we found standing to be the most user friendly way to ride the big girl. It has so much grunt for wheelies, you lean back and open the throttle and up she comes. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Thanks for the arvo Capt and thanks to your wife for taken the photos and videos. I had a great afetrnoon.

Yeah maybe the fear of pain slowed us up a bit. Although I nearly stepped off the back of the raptor once.
Louee is a definate in about 3 weeks mate :woohoo: :woohoo: I think it might throw me around the motocross track though.
