I’ve searched about setting the power valve preload. But all the info I’ve found so far are for later bikes with the square adjuster, mine has the double hex head with a flat screw driver slot in it.

Also is it worth running a fuel filter? Or will it likely interfere with the premix?

I have no idea what power valve spring is installed, or jetting.

It has an fmf gnarly . That’s as much as I know without pulling it apart to see.

Drew, run the filter ;) cant say much on setting up the PV even though I have a 99 model 300 and 380 in the Garage :woohoo:

    Hey Mate

The below link should take you to a manual for your model. Fingers crossed. That should help with jetting options and pv setting.

I imagine turning the preload out flush with the case will be a good starting point. Try it and see how the bike reacts.

Fuel filter. I don’t run one but cant see how 2% premix in the total fuel volume will affect the filters performance. Give it a go.

Are you happy with the bikes performance? If so, jetting should be ok, but its pretty easy to remove the jets and needle to at least know what you are running. Fresh plug and silencer packing. Then just get it angry and have some fun.

I used to run a brass screen filter from Ballards. Don’t anymore, never had it catch anything interesting. I don’t think many people do any more.
I think from memory the adjuster on mine didn’t protrude from the case, but I could be wrong. Don’t worry about jets as said if it runs fine just ride it LOL

Thanks Luke. The manual helped heaps. Will have a fiddle when the pipe is back on with the custom gaurd.

Pics don’t do it justice, its supposed to look like an anaconda or the like made from individual scales.

Just have to make up the clamps and fit it to the bike.

Pipe guard done and fitted. Didn’t turn out completely as I pictured in my mind but a one off no pattern scratch build rearly does.
