XR’s have a kick starter. They are meant to be owned by real trailriders.

Fun? :D If I were at competition level I would choose to have both, but now I’m satishfied just having a kickstarter. The bike starts 1st kick at any time. (It was a terrible when my old DRZ did not start with the button and had no kicker either:angry:)

    ,
    Ouch Ollie !

Look I think they look the goods, to the own I a first model? They are all to new for me all in one hit, fuel injection, yes, engine repositioned yes, plus the other bits and pieces, all at once ????? If they are like any other new thing, updates and everything on the 2nd model fixes the dramas for the first model, first model worth nothing when you go to unload it?

Okay peeps, a bit of an update for you. Last night I was in Newcastle KTM speaking to guys there and getting soem bits for the KTM when I mention the Husaberg. Turns out they are getting a demo bike in a couple of weeks, so I’ll deffo go and have a quick go.

Out of interest the motor is pretty much the XC4 KTM unit with a few little changes. The front forks and rear shock are exactly the same as the current model KTM, which only really leaves the fuel injection system.

I see having the FI as a big plus in terms of maintainence and hassle free operation. Providing it is properly set up from thge factory there is no need to change it. Alot guys say ‘it’s too hard to work on’, but I think they are missing the point that it doesn’t need to be worked on.

Really it looks like a new frame, different colour plastics plastics, and fuel injection are the main difference between my current bike. I had all but talked myself back into last night until………I saw another bike in the shop;)

It’s an 08 450 KTM exactly the same as mine, but there is not a mark on it. I mean not a mark, not even on the engine casing. 450km’s on the clock and $10.5K with rego till May ’09’!! It’s being sold on behalf of a guy who had a serious bike crash (on his road bike) and can’t ride for 6-8 months. Decided to sell the bike as opposed to leaving it in his shed.

I’m thinking of ways to make thi bike as we speak…..

This is not the first time I can hear of KTMs with no case number… how is that possible?!

heya Moto, I reckon a 300 would suit wouldn’t it?

Honestly & seriously though, when I used to update every season the revolutionary models generally let me down, the second evolutionary model were always the better choice.

    ie
    YZ125J sorta duddy
    YZ125K equal class leader
    CR450R crankcase cracker,
    Cr480R mucho betterer
    Husqvarna the early 2000’s
    Husqvarna now=excellent
    KTM300s 1990s= excellent
    KTM300s 2000s= still excellent

Mmm see where this is going
