Cheers TB, I am sorry I missed the last couple of days, you probably gathered it was pretty full-on!

Just a little story here for you blokes:

Dave was riding the last few kilometres of the very last selective stage and the map roller stopped working then his dash went bezerk. The bike was going OK so he kept on the go and made it to the time control. He got a time and stopped the bike as they were completing the time card. When he went to restart the bike…. nothing! The battery had dropped a cell and died!

He and a heap of other guys (Cheers Darren Johnson, Johnny G on the TTR, Andrew Jones and others) tried to push start it (no kicker) but no luck!! Crap!

So he applied for outside assistance to get the bike back to town, thinking that worst case there was a spare battery in the trailer. It was approved, given that he had completed the stage and only had to make it to the ceremonial finish. So the call went out, just as I was driving past! We swung in and jump started him, then he rode into town. They sat around being put into reverse finishing order, with Dave’s bike idling the whole time. After about 10 minutes he rode around the block to cool it down and then they sent him to the finish line where he parked the bike – and it hasn’t started since!!!

How’s that for timing!?! If he had stalled 2km from the end of the last stage it would have been a looooong push!
