I have also spent a bit of time in the saddle this year and am finding it hard to pin point the most enjoyable ride I have done in 2009.
Some that deserve a mention would be.New years day, with roaring hangovers Moose and I did the Plommer road run through Limeburners Nat parks swamps to Crescent head pub for lunch and return by Plommer road.
I had my first off for the year on New years day 200 meters after hitting the dirt.
It set the scene for the year to come, with a few tumbles coming my way in the last 11 monthsHill End was also a cracker, even though I had my biggest off for the year on that ride, the company and the experience was great..Tiny’s entrance to Hill End left something to be desired. :S
My 3 day birthday bash in March was a beauty too. Even though I had my 2nd biggest off for the year right in front of the hyena laughing bastard Ollie!!
One particularly muddy day in Bago when KTMRAT over took me going down hill, like a man possessed and ate shit.
Both of the family weekends at KTMBULL’s place, also ate shit at one of those weekends too. :woohoo: Best memory from those weekends, was me and Bear on our Xr’s at the top of a hill the other 11 bikes couldn’t get up, and listening to the carnage and revving and swearing down below.
Xmas party was good too, bit to freaking cold, rocky and dusty though
I enjoyed the company more than the riding.the poker run and time trials were fun I will say. Ate shit there too.
Another memorable ride was the Kundabung bags of fun ride, with Fossil leading Tripper Kram140, MThickett and myself around some great unmolested trails south of Kempsey,a great ride although I got my only puncture for the year. The after ride barbie was choise. :woohoo:
The ride that really stands out this year would be the XR’s Only ride TB,Moose and myself did.
Bago, Cowarra,Jolly nose,Lake Cathie straights on the tar.to Port Macquarie for fuel. Then Plommer road to Cresent Head for lunch. Hat head beach sand dunes, into Kempsey after seeing TB pull the best wheelie I have seen for many a year. From Kempsey Via a rough road in close proximity to what appeared to be a railway line of some sort to Kundabung, thence through Cooperabung range to Rollands Plains and riderX’s house back to Wauchope. 200+
XR friendly Kilometers. The least enjoyable ride this year, would be last weekend’s Pony Express in oppressive heat.
I thought I was gunna keel over after my 2nd lap because of the heat. :blink:It has been a great year and i look forward to more OBT shananigans next year.

November 25, 2009 at 10:43 pm #162791You guys have done so much. But I have only just joined up and only done one ride with Training wheels and the gang at the pines and Iam still taking antibiotics for that day .It was well organised and worth every minute I stacked only three times and did not break anything on my trusty XR and before anyone gets the wrong idea the antibotics are for infection in my foot! :woohoo:

AnonymousI had many great rides this year and I can’t say one was necessarily better than an another, therefore I will list the prominent ones in my mind:
The Murphsberg Rides – especially the one where it was just me, Tim and Murph.
The Orange A4DE ride for the pine forest single trail and the laughs and jokes we had whilst there.
The Easter ‘Verge’ ride with Matty, LC4Skin and Green450, Twobanger, Lotsa etc.
Mick’s Wauchope ride when Matty made the trip up. If I was forced to pic a fave ride this year it would probably be this one.
Coffs Harbour with STM – magic weekend too
The first Teralba to nowhere with Dan and TB.
I guess I should add the Wauchope Pony Express as I got 2nd place even though it was anything but fun
November 25, 2009 at 11:38 pm #162798Being new and improving (at least in confidence) with most rides I found that they just kept getting better! Best weekend was the recent TW run on saturday and then DanD’s on the sunday because that was my first double shift and despite my bike not lasting the day I lapped it up and enjoyed every minute of both days until my bike died.
Best ride for me was probably taking the group from the pines to Jiliby and back because it was the first ride I had reasonably confidently led though I did cramp up about halfway through the day.
Honorable mentions go to:
My first Old bull ride which was on anzac day. RIDE REPORT HERE
Running around kitchener with P-dub back a while. RIDE REPORT HERENovember 26, 2009 at 12:31 am #162800Unfortunately I missed alot of great rides through work but 2 of the best I did were the longest days out, particularly the return leg. Not sure of the other one but I think it was the aborted Denman ride where we went out through putty and did a big loop around and back to the putty halfway house. Both for not only the qualty of the tracks and the company but also because i felt i rode fairly well on them.
November 26, 2009 at 1:33 am #162805where do i begin???????????
ive done over 2700kms of riding with old bulls this year. both here and in NSW.
i will take this opportunity to thank all the bulls/bullettes ive had the pleasure of blasting thru the bush with.
i was at the end of my teather in january, brand new bike and nobody left to ride with. all my other mates that used to ride had gotten fat or lazy or got married or had kids….or some other lame excuse. :laugh:old bulls saved my life!!!!!
thanks crew
now, when it comes to rides…..
breaking my ribs first ride of the new kato
at the blackrange. lucky Ant was there, i would still be trying to get my bike on the trailer!!
breaking my cocyx…..on the first ride after my ribs healed
the caves ride, not so much for the riding as the conditions were shocking, but for getting to meet everyone and get a little tipsy. it was my first sighting of the old bull spirit, it was oozing everywhere. the singles we rode near the pub were wicked. and i mean wicked!! gotta get up there again one day.
the first OBT vicco ride in june. it gave me a great feeling of achievment to lead the boys. everyone had a ball. in fact all the glenmaggie rides have been great. and the lunches to die for
the vic high country ride. it was collossal. both on the bike and off. it took me a week to recover
wombat state forrest in the wet, it rocks.
paddys swamp in the dry or wet…..it rocks too.
louee, more for the drinking   it was grouse.
the rest of my trip up north at bills and with brucee was wicked….
the stockmans rally. what a rush. my first mass organised event.
but my best ride of the year……
coffs harbour with STM,
through tunnels of rainforrest. riding on the beach is a lifelong memory that filled a lifelong need. i can die happier now  :laugh:i luv you guys
November 26, 2009 at 1:57 am #162748For me, it’s the Colo Heights ride led by Dan, we met TB at lunch and everything went quite well.
As Kylie said, 450Km and some of it was tough, we had two flats (one on my bike) but it was a well planned ride and no injuries.Nothing beats a good sun up to sun down ride.
