July 29, 2009 at 10:17 am #145764How was the Kato 300 compared to the Husky Mal.
Did the Kato have the red spring in?
Are the springs easy to change?
Did the Kato have a mapping switch?
So many questions:(

I rode up at hampton with a guy from melbourne with a 300 Gasgas and he did a main bearing in at full noise beside my at 120km’s on dual trails like we where on today.
She lock up solid and wouldn’t turn over at all so make your mind before you buy Dude.
Cheers
Dr D
Hey Dr D what year model was this 300? I know they have changed the bearings in the newer models, I think 05 and Older had the shite ones.
Ollie
Hey Oille
I think it was a 05 model
July 29, 2009 at 10:23 am #145778Yeh the newer models have been pretty reliable. I did a main bearing in my 96 husky 360 once, cost me about $1700 to get it fixed at mates rates

Wash your mouth out TB!
Then again, with the wild cams in your modified monster………it drives like a two stroke anyway.
When you put the standard cams back in it…..you’ll blasphem no more!!…………..and it will do 20,000kms+ between ring sets!!

Dr D
What are you talking about D ?? Camshafts dont help you cross a river, and Crash was doing it and we really only wanted one bike to go across so only one would be drowned, didnt you wonder why Crash was getting ready and no one else, hence everyone looking at you funny
But the looking at you funny happens all the time I imagine so you probably did get it
PS that xr that crossed is as standard as yours, but he approached it different  if you watch the videos

July 29, 2009 at 10:46 am #145788Yes TB i did see that that crash bike is standard but if you have engine mods you wouldn’t be that keen to give it a drink if you have out laid money in cams and head work that all I ‘m saiding TB
Cheers

Did the Kato have the red spring in? Don’t know DrD can answer that.
Are the springs easy to change? Apparently.
Did the Kato have a mapping switch? Yes, but didn’t play with it too much. I couldn’t notice to difference on track I was on.
So many questions:( So little time. Just buy one Murph, your a KTM boy it’s an easy decision for you.

MurphOk Guy
The DR D KTM 300 2009 run the yellow spring which is the standard one at delivery and a JD Jetting kit and the map switch the rest is the factory KTM out of the box.
I find the map switch works only at low RPM in very tight hill climbsDr D
