No you were there my friend. You and choppa went straight up,Jak took the rest of the group the long way around.I was riding sweep and had to help that young bloke on the XR250(the one with the eyeshadow on)He made it about halfway up and i thought it cant be so bad so i went straight up the left hand side.It was the first time down there that i didnt try it.I remember it vividly because Tim went the girls way around with jak and i never let him forget it.

that wasnt Aido hill. its the one you had a real hard time coming up and thought we had all left you. remember, it was near the campground where i roosted JAK ;)

    so…

the kenda is just over 4 weeks away :woohoo: … heres the latest…

    Team Old Bull riders are..

    menace
    TB
    boulder
    choppa
    smokey
    Aido
    XYtransit
    JAK
    billt
    Dirty Dave

Smurf is out as he has to move house.
    Ant is out for…well…another reason!
mickW….well we dont have to worry about him anymore  :P

accomodation is at the Eildon Caravan Park.
we have two cabins and IT WILL BE FIRST IN BEST DRESSED!!

    their website is…http://www.eildoncp.com/

by all accounts, we will be at the golden trout hotel in eildon for lunch saturday (those that are there early) and will mosy on over to the accommodation in the arvo.

    scrutineering….

the organisers will be conducting “early bird” scrutineering on Saturday afternoon from 4pm to 6pm and on Sunday morning from 7.30 am to 9am. i think we should all do the sat arvo one if possible (dont worry if your not there in time it can be done sunday. it will be busy on sunday though)

First up will be a noise test. If your bike looks as if it has a noisy muffler, you will be asked to start the bike and our noise tester will operate the decibel meter to ensure that the bike comes in under the EPA rule. If you have a stock muffler or an approved aftermarket pipe there won’t be a problem, but loud MX type pipes will not pass this stage.

Then you come to the scrutineering tent where essentially our scrutineers are looking for a bike that has a headlight and taillight affixed to the bike, a registration plate and label and the bike must be in a decent condition as far as brakes, spokes, wheel bearings, etc are concerned. At this stage we will take your licence and affix a sticker and number to your bikes headlight shroud. This number enables us to keep track of you through the day and at the end of the day we return your licence to you, once you have finished both loops.

REMEMBER, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LICENCE WITH YOU AT SCRUTINEERING. NO LICENCE, NO START!!!

please prep your bike before leaving home and make sure your tyres are ok, especially if its gonna be wet!!
if you DONT prepare yourself and your bike beforehand (to the best of your ability anyway) expect a shellacking from the rest of us

those of you who are fitting/having tyres fitted…we will do this sat arvo at the caravan park.

im tipping the riding will start about 9.30-10.00.
there will be 2 x 80km loops (please bring enough fuel for both with you so we dont need to worry and rush around in the morning.) i cant see it taking anyone more than 3 hours per loop, even at cruising speed. remember, there are 500 riders. the course is designed not to have ‘bottlenecks’ and if its anything like the stockmans rally was, there will be options on the hard sections to take the easy way or the hard way.

it is a fully marked and arrowed course and there will be sweepers riding it too. if you stack and wound yourself, they will help you.
i encourage everyone to ride at their own pace. there is no need to be a hero.
as we have riders with us of different calibres we will probably get split up during the loop. if so, dont sweat, you cant get lost!! it will all be explained in detail at the riders briefing before the race.

there will be caterers doing all kinds of food for lunch in between loops or just BYO some food. im pretty sure after its finished and you get your licence back they give you a ticket to get a free feed from the caterers too.

i think we should wait between loops for a regroup of the Bulls before the second, have some lunch and relive our experiences!! after all, we are Team Old Bulls!!

if anyone is rooted or hurt and doesnt wanna ride the second loop, thats cool, there will be no pressure.

i also want to remind everyone again, IT ISNT A RACE!!

the organiser have said that team entries (thats us) will be starting together.

the event is now FULL, thats 500 riders folks.
for the ‘rally newbys’ (ive only done 1 myself  ) the rush and nerves on the start line with 500 bikes running is something you will never ever forget. we can all guage our excitement by how much Aido’s hands will be trembling

    its gonna be great!!!!!!!!

    from the kenda website…

    The course.

The rally committee had a pre ride of the course a couple of weekends ago with members of the Alexandra district MCC taking the opportunity to ride both loops and check out the course. Even though the conditions were wet, the tracks were loamy and flowing, with a few technical uphill’s to test the riders. It’s the best course we have had for a few years and everyone’s favorite section, the Royston range track, was a classic bit of trail.

“Like a muddy rollercoaster ride” was how one young, wide eyed rider described it at the end of the first loop. You riders are in for a real treat on these trails.

A couple of riders ran out of rear brake pads on the day, due to the muddy conditions, so make sure your pads have plenty of meat before the ride, along with good tyres.

    Food and Coffee.

For the 2010 Kenda rally we have decided to widen our horizons on the catering front. With the modern dirt bike riders dietary requirements being more sophisticated in this new millennium, the ADMCC has moved with the times and we have engaged the services of Crawford’s catering from Mansfield. Wait till you see the setup these guys operate out of, it’s like something out of a transformers movie!

Crawford’s have done the catering for the Australian Safari and the Moto GP at Philip Island, not to mention the Sawmill rally at Mansfield… The great food and real coffee that these guys serve up will take the Kenda experience to a whole new level. So forget about the drive thru on the way up on Sunday morning, save your change for the real deal at the rally start line!

Hmmm, I’d like a double decaf latte with a chocolate Kenda logo on top, in my special cup, thanks Barista…

    Merchandise.

There will be a limited number of 2010 Kenda rally t shirts and long sleeves for sale at the rally. The artwork is done by our resident artist (and KTM rider) Col Lamb from Lambhed graphics. Make sure you get a poster as well for the garage or pool room. Bring your cash or credit cards (no eftpos) to the merchandise tent and see the merchandising team for your piece of Kenda memorabilia.

    Photography.

We will have official photographers stationed around the course, taking photos of every rider and we will post these action shots online on this site a week or so after the event, so all riders will be able to purchase any action shots of them or their riding buddies for a nominal fee. Payment can be made by direct deposit or pay pal.

    Final Instructions.

A week or so before the Kenda rally, we will upload a document on the admcc website (i will upload it to old bulls asap) which will give you a run down on where to go and what to bring on the day. As we have mentioned before in our updates, space is at a premium in the area that we are using for the start/ finish area, so wherever possible, get organized and put three bikes on the trailer or the Ute.

Our car park attendants will fit you all in, but for every dude that turns up by himself in a Hummer with an 18 foot enclosed trailer on the back with one bike in it; there will be 6 riders that miss out on a parking spot.i think we should maybe park out on the roadside somewhere as to ease conjestion and be able to make a quicker getaway, but lets wait and see

here is the link to the kenda website http://www.admcc.com.au/
