just my $0.002 worthhoping for a speedy recovery
, but not a rushed one.
a thought i had, would it be an idea if we had a fallen/injured rider/member thread? that way all the progress reports and well wishes don’t get lost in the thread it was posted in?

May 17, 2010 at 6:34 am #179341Take it easy mate.
The Doctor told me it helps if you sit down to piss. Oh thats right you alrady do.
Think back to my last ride, did i complain about my injuries. No. If all i had was a broken back i would have kept riding and pushed through the pain but my injuries were a lot worse. Me finger took about five days before the scab fell off. Painfull stuff those paper cuts.
Might see if The Gob is interested.

May 17, 2010 at 8:19 am #179377heres the latest on the Kenda from the ADMCC website……
SCRUTINEERING – will be at the start/finish area at Kendall’s A campground between:
4.00pm to 6.00pm Saturday 22nd May and 6.30 am to 8.30am Sunday May 23rd.
“All bikes should have a head light, tail light, registration label and registration plate, mounted on the rear of the bike. Any bike that does not comply with these four basic roadworthy items will not start the event.
No noisy bikes will start the Kenda rally”
After scrutineering, we will take your bike licence/permit and affix a sticker and number on your headlight cowl. Your bike will then be placed in starting order on the start line.
RIDERS BRIEFING – it is important all riders attend the Riders briefing at 8.30am at the start/finish area.
START – the Rally will start on Sunday morning at 9.00am sharp, immediately following the Nolan Dash.
The Nolan Rally site is shown below. If your coming from Melbourne, turn right at Taggerty and right again at Rubicon Road. Kendall’s A camp ground is on your left just before the Power Station
THE NOLAN DASH – is a 50 metre foot race to waiting Nolan Helmets, held after the riders briefing.
Part Stawell gift-Part Buffalo stampede. It’s not for the faint hearted! First one to grab a helmet-wins the Helmet! This year, the winner can choose between a Nolan helmet or a EK Chain/Afam sprocket pack worth $265.00
The first heat is for girls, the second is for guys. Participants must run in full riding gear – including motorcycle boots and helmets.
(Runners or work boots are not acceptable).
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING –
1.Motorcycle Licence/Learners Permit must be handed in at scrutineering. It will be handed back after the Rally. This is to help us keep track of you. Please remember to collect your licence after the Rally.
2.Motorcycle registration papers or current label. Recreational registration is allowed in 2010
3.Enough fuel for 2 x 80 kilometre loops
4.An effectively silenced motorcycle – if it’s noisy, don’t bother turning up!
Noisy 4 stroke bikes are killing our sport & restricting bush access to all riders.Just like previous years, we have a noise meter to test four strokes that are too loud. These tests will be conducted at scrutineering & also randomly in the starting line up. If your bike is too loud it will be issued with a defect notice by the DSE Tester.
Any bike that exceeds 96db will not be permitted to start the event. All bikes with stock or lightly modified mufflers will pass this level easily, but excessively noisy bikes have no place in the bush. This is the ADMCCs policy as well as a condition of our permit with the DSE. If you suspect your bike might be over the limit, fix it or fit up your stock muffler before the event.
DON’T BRING – dogs and mini bikes. A total ban has been placed on the use of mini bikes in the camping area and car park. BE WARNED. GET CAUGHT AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED BY THE POLICE!
ABOUT THE RALLY – First and foremost – this is not a race! We don’t want to be scraping you off a tree, or the front of a four-wheel-drive. It is a rally designed to encourage safe off-road riding. The course is fully arrowed and will be easy to follow. When you complete your first loop you will be given a time to be ready to start your second loop. There will be a 20 minute break to allow you to have a rest and refuel. Each loop should take about 2 hours to complete, so 3 hours is allowed. These times are generous, so if a rider fails to complete their first loop within the set time they will not be permitted to start the second. We don’t want to be looking for riders in the dark!
IMPORTANT!!! – IF YOU FIND AN INJURED RIDER – STOP – RENDER ASSISTANCE AND NOTIFY THE NEXT CONTROL.
The Alexandra & District Motor Cycle Club will not be responsible for the recovery of broken down bikes – riders only will be recovered.
PRESENTATIONS – all riders who finish the Rally have a chance of winning Kenda Tyres, Nolan Helmets, Trailbike Adventure magazine prize packs & subscriptions, Mobil lubricants, EK Chains, Toylok security locks, AFAM products and a host of other prizes worth over $9000. As you finish the Rally you will be given a ticket that you can put into the barrel for the prize draw, which will take place immediately after the last riders have finished. There will also be a cash prize of $500.00 and a trophy to the biggest team.
To win a prize you must be present at the draw – so don’t go home early.
K&J THOMAS MC BIGGEST TEAM AWARD- Awarded to the biggest team to finish the Kenda rally. A great trophy to take home and $500.00 cash. Now that worth sticking around for at the end of the day!
SOUVENIR T SHIRTS- Our limited edition Kenda Rally T shirts are a sought after collectors item. Less than 400 of these shirts are printed each year. Don’t forget to check out the matching Poster, which will look great on your Bar or Garage wall. Be sure to see the crew at the Merchandising tent on Sunday, to get your hands on these great souvenirs. Roving Photographers will be getting action shots of all riders at the Kenda rally. Be sure to visit the admcc website for photos of all riders, after the event.
FOOD and FUEL – Fuel is available at Thornton and the Eildon Township. Crawford’s catering will be catering the 2010 Kenda rally. Sunday will see real coffee and hot food available from 7am for early risers and hot food and soft drinks will be available throughout the day. Toilets will be provided on site. Please keep the Start Finish area tidy by taking your rubbish home with you.
CAMPING – Because of restricted room available to us, there will be no camping at the Start finish area this year. A list of caravan parks, motels and accommodation is available on the admcc website. No Buses, Caravans or large tandem enclosed trailers will be admitted to the start finish area. As there is limited space to park vehicles, we ask entrants to share a car and trailer wherever possible- it’s good for the environment too!
The DSE and Police have stipulated that there is to be no parking vehicles on the roadside leading to or from the Start finish area. Don’t risk a fine or the chance of having your vehicle and trailer towed away, to save five minutes at the end of the day.
THE ALEXANDRA & DISTRICT MOTOR CYCLE CLUB HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY AT THE 2010 KENDA RALLY.
