Got the new bike out for it’s first ride this morning. coming of a long run of 4 strokes i was sure how we’d get along but the 300 was pretty easy to ride fast. heaps of low and mid power, more than i expected anyway.

I changed the jetting and installed the red spring(thanks moto)and the motor is perfect. chugged up some big hills in low revs and pulls hard to the top, love it..

Stock suspension set to ‘sport’ seemed pretty good also, i’m 10kg heavier that the rated 85kg springs but didn’t have any bottoming out issues.

I didn’t get a chance to play with the PV screw adjuster, does it have much affect of power delivery?

    Welcome to the club.
Will take some time to adjust. They aren’t for everybody. If you have some years of riding under your belt you’ll love it.
If it’s still brand new don’t get too carried away with engine mods. Put at least 10-15 hours on it to bed in. It’s probably chewing up fuel like crazy and the bottom end power will kick in when it’s fully run in.
The suspension also needs time to loosen up. Don’t be tempted to run too much compression dampning as it will give you arm pump something fierce as well as unsettle the bike all the time. 2 strokes like to deflect off stuff on the trails compared to 4 strokes. It’s critical to get it right.
The PV adjuster fine tunes the preload on the spring. No harm in playing with it.

The PV adjuster does make a difference. It’s not as defined as changing the springs but I found winding it out so that it’s ever so slightly proud of the casing further smoothes out the power delivery with the jetting I’m using.

I’m around 95Kg (more fully booted up) and I didn’t bottom my suspension out either which is good as I did every single ride with the 450.

I run ‘sport’ settings too and found them much better than standard. I’m going to play with around with some ‘tweaks’ but it’s pretty good out of the box. I’m going to be losing some weight so should be even better then.

Glad that you like your new ride Tall man :)
