If Price sets a lead, he is pretty much unbeatable too , as he has shown the past 12 months or so
Should be a good 4 days racing up there,,,, Pity it`s so far away this year ,,,,,

Ha ha you would have supported Hitler if he came from Wauchope

My moneys on Price, not because he isnt from Wauchope Mick just like Beags said he his hard to beat. Would like to see Hollis do well but cause he has had a pretty lean last year. He has been on the pace of late though

I forgot it was on, is Grabbo riding or out cause of the wrist he broke in Finke?

Press release I got this morning from Yamaha Australia.

Yamaha riders lead four of six of the classes of competition after Day 1 of the Yamaha Yamalube Cycra GYTR Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE).

The event is being held at Koumala and Gum Valley, just south of Mackay (QLD), until Sunday.

Stefan Merriman (YZ450F) is ahead in Championship E1, Matthew Phillips (YZ475F) in E3, Jemma Wilson (YZ250F) in Women’s Championship and Matt Dumigan (YZ450F) in Veteran’s.

Chris Hollis (Wauchope, NSW) only just lost the lead of Championship E2 (and Outright) after a crash in the final special test of the day.

Despite the crash, Hollis, from Wauchope (NSW), still came second in the class – just 1.7-seconds behind Toby Price.

Hollis said his crash was due to a front end wash out.

“I lost the front there for a little bit and kissed the ground,” Hollis said. “Picked it up and kept going, but I lost a lot of time.

“But there were only four tests today and me and Toby are really close… tomorrow we’ve got six tests and I’ll try and make it back up then.

“We’ve got one new test tomorrow that we do twice, which is a good grass track.

“So things are looking good. I’m riding good and my bike’s working good, I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”

Leading his class is young Tasmanian Matt Phillips, who sits 1.6-seconds ahead in Championship E3, even despite a crash in the last special test.

“I’m fairly happy with how I went,” Phillips said. “I was running third Outright until the last test and I had a big crash and knocked myself out.

“But I’m stoked to be leading the class so far and hopefully I can hold that lead and get back up there in the outrights by pushing hard and staying on the bike.”

Phillips’s teammate, Stefan Merriman, is also ahead in his class (Championship E1) after taking the win in three out of four special tests.

“I was a little bit nervous to start with, took me a bit to get into it… in the first test I was a bit slow,” Merriman said.

“And then I got quicker and quicker and had a good day. It was really good out there.

“The ground’s quite dry and slippery… when you’re racing it’s always a challenge to stay on. But the trails look good, it’s going to be a good four day.”

In the Championship Women’s, YZ250F pilot Jemma Wilson (from Brisbane) leads the class ahead of New Zealander, Natasha Cairns. Reigning champ, Jessica Gardiner (Yamaha) sits third.

And it’s another Queenslander, Matt Dumigan (of the Gum Valley Motorcycle Club), who leads a star-studded field in Veteran’s on his YZ450F.

STM, I think the problem is the WR’s are a couple of years behind of the YZ in terms of technology. It’s about time the manufacturers got there enduro models up to speed with the MX models.

Looks like it will be all Team Ballards again. If only their shop was as good as their race team. :(
