Fancy me seeing this post and getting excited that you had actually found something to help me :pinch: Why would I think that, hope I can return the favour on the weekend, what am I doing? Oh yeah putting your CRF together  Let’s see you wonder about the reliability of your bike in the bush

March 5, 2012 at 8:39 am #217634I have been watching this thread with interest and just a little bit of envy and seeing as though, I have a bike in the shed that qualifies to go on the ride. Count me in!!! :woohoo:
The NX will need a little bit of work but I am sure she can be a goer come easter!
Tentative permission has been granted by the missus, now the biggest hurdle will be today when I go cap in hand to our regional manager to ask for the days off work, after just having 5 weeks off. :S

Good stuff Mick
A phone call to Pezz this morning has opened a door and provided me with a back up plan. So hopefully today I should be able to source the parts required for the mighty XLV

Nice one Mick. I’m sweeping so maybe we can travel down together.
I can’t decide whether to ride the DR or keep the Quinn for one last ride
The heart wants to ride the Quinn but the wife wants it gone :pinch:

March 5, 2012 at 10:47 am #217658Hey TB what’s with the D1169N stamped on everything?
If you have a look at the pics of the big Honda everything seems to be stamped with those numbers.

GO THE MIGHTY QUINN!!!!!!!
March 6, 2012 at 12:06 am #214808Awesome stuff mick, this is turning out to be a cracker.
Kram, what better way to show the Quinn still has what it takes to be an adventure bike, after nailing a trip like this you will either have buyers jumping up and down and throwing money at you for it, or you wife will be so impressed with its potential that she will slide her side of the bed up against the wall so you will have more room to park the Quinn in the bedroom.
March 6, 2012 at 12:55 pm #217732Ok guys, I have now registered to go on the ride, so if you have a few Bob to spare towards my target, it would be most appreciated! To donate, click on the link below.

March 6, 2012 at 4:30 pm #217752Hey Pezz,
I have just been to the RTA to see if the event is approved to allow participants to get a Unregistered vehicle permit for the event? They couldn’t tell me but gave me some forms. How have other guys got around rego in previous years? Some of the bikes I have seen in the promo shots for the event dont look like they would pass rego.

It depends on the registry you go to.
My XR460/4 is classed as a Historic vehicle.
Joe Thompson got one for the scare chair, I will ask him how he got it passed, but from memory it was at the 2nd or 3rd registry -
