It is with huge delight that I can announce that Martin Wyllie and Pilot Air (www.pilotair.com.au) can generously continued their support of the Scrapheap Adventure Ride by donating $5,000.00 toward this year’s event.

If anyone is in need of a new Air Compressor please contact these guys!!!! B)

    Thanks Martin

Well I rode my scrapheap bike to work this morning to confirm I have fixed the fuel feed problem which seeems ok. I filled the big arse tank as well, it had bugger all fuel in it and took 23 litres which surprised me I thought it would have held more
It ran great, its nice to have a ride before you have to start your day at work even on the black top

Spent a few bucks on the NX today and got a screen made up for her. I heard it gets cold down that way. This is the prototype screen. I will give her a test run before we leave. $40 at the local plastics place. I just made a template out of a beer carton and they did a great job copying it..

Looks good Mick, it may pay if you take it back for a tweak like you said on the phone to have the top lip curled up to kick the wind up and over at the end ;)

    Tweak it for sure ;)
Preliminary job looks the goods though Mick ,,,

I mounted a Kato Hardparts screen to mine last week, it has a kick in the top as well for that little bit extra deflection of the air
Test rides are always a great excuse to get out too :P

my design allowed for the top 3 inches to be tweaked if necessary. ;)

Just the last inch or even half inch Mick, any more isnt needed and will put to much pressure on the mounting screws I reckon ;)

    Yep,
It only needs a small kick to be effective, half inch should go close,,, you have a big area of air being directed upwards as it is with the screen size mate

I know this may sound silly but try and get some plastic, yes plastic screws. If you use plastic screws, when you go over the hangers or hit the screen and it does happen you dont smash the new screen, the fairing its mounted to and cut your throat

The teneres use plastic screws, yes I said plastic

I have some spares I maybe able to give you they look the same size from memory B)

Nylon fasteners are relatively easy to get hold of,,,
Think I have some downstairs actually… I can post you some Mick if ya like ;)
Will check the size and get back to ya (think they are 6mm dia)

6mm is what I need. Three are metric thread but the forth is a self taper that some wood duck put in there in the past. Nothing is ever easy when dealing with older bikes!
