Pilot Air Comporessors had a stand at the Hare & Forbes 3 day sale and so we decided to add my XR460/4 to the display. Got a bit of interest too!!!
Here is the guilty party who covered the seat in a walnut brown with a quilted speckled red top
It sure is a bit out there!!! But a big thank you Shane and Trimtastic in Toowoomba

March 25, 2012 at 9:51 pm #218488Well I spent the weekend rally driving Steve’s ute from Dural to the NSW high country around and back :woohoo: We have pre-run the entire route and located a heap of fine single track riding as well which we will use later in the year on an epic single trail 3 day ride
Back to the Scrapers, the route is surrounded by some very beatuiful senery, wild brumbies, pubs, rivers, streams, hills etc
We had three GPSs and have the whole route stored and ready. Anyone going with a GPS can have the route loaded either at Dural or during the ride at Gunning or the resort

Steve took charge of the directions at one stage

March 25, 2012 at 10:18 pm #218831Thanks for the pre run report TB. I am at the stage were I can no longer wait…. :woohoo:
Just got the screen re jigged on the NX and it looks the goods now.
March 25, 2012 at 10:54 pm #218832We decided that the screen that I had made up for the NX was a bit big, so I had to tweak it a little. Cut 2″ of the top and get it folded up at the end by 1.5″ to deflect the wind and bees.
You will also notice the home made gear sack rack that Kram gave me fitted to the old girl as well. She is really starting to look the part!
March 25, 2012 at 10:56 pm #218833WOW :woohoo: Thats looks awesome TB, im so keen, :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
March 26, 2012 at 10:39 pm #214826You two are crazy :woohoo:
PEZZ can you email this out to anyone else who might be interested in our ride down South? Thanks mate…
Anyway, we successfully pre ran the ride down to Tumbarumba this weekend. OK we did it in a 4WD but that is because we had the Triton decked out like a space shuttle with Four GPS working overtime to record all data.
DAY 1: (Thursday 5th April ) Our ride will leave DURAL (269 New Line Rd, DURAL opposite the Golf Driving range and 400m down the road from Macca’s if you are hungry) at 8am sharp. This is because we have a 420km ride to Gunning. We will head North up Old Windsor Rd, the cut out to cross the Hawkesbury over the Sackville ferry. Then we will follow the Colo River and on up to Bilpin where you can refuel.
Bilpin to the Hartley Valley up to Hampton and then across to Oberon for a QUICK lunch and fuel. We will then slab it for thirty or so kms to Black Springs before finding some very nice gravel to Tuena and Binda before wending on to Gunning. You can also fuel up at Binda. The first day’s ride is a grade 1 ride and doable in a 2wd car.
DAY 2: (Friday 6th April) Our ride also starts at Gunning at 8am. PLEASE SEE THAT YOU ARE REFUELED THE NIGHT BEFORE OR EARLY AM… The ride takes us cross country to Wee Jasper (There is no fuel or food at Wee Jasper) and then we will continue on the dirt to Tumut. There is a mix of tar and unpaved roads. At Tumut we could stop for lunch or if all is well and we are running early I suggest we head down to Talbingo for lunch and fuel. From Talbingo we head up into the Bago State Forest. It might be considered a Grade 2 at this point as although the roads are reasonable it gets a little steep in places. If it is wet we might look at our options here for anyone who is worried about riding dirt in the rain.
Day Two is an easy distance of less than 300kms. We come out on Elliott Way just a few kilometers from our destination.
DAY 3: (Saturday 7th April Loop Ride)… This is a moderate to easy Loop ride with section one heading South to Tooma, being less than 100kms to lunch in Tumbarumba. The afternoon Loop is a fantastic ride up through the Bago State Forest back to MacPhersons Alpine Retreat for the evenings festivities.
If you need accommodation at Dural let me know. You will need fuel for approximately 200kms but we can carry fuel in one of the trucks. There will be at least two support 4 x 4 vehicles with trailers and the OLD BULLS TRAILRIDERS are leading the ride and sweeping the ride.
Cheers

You had better get Kram on the job or do it for him when you do yours.

March 27, 2012 at 10:07 pm #218871The Piglet is pretty much ready, the only thing to do now is fiddle with the screen and wire the dash up and maybe change the front guard for a CR80 guard.
This weekend i will take it for a little spin, nothing big just a hoon around the streets looking for people that are in a donating moodThe Gear sack i got off Badbowie and the panniers i got off Krusty and i think they look awesome, Thanks guys.
i put my tool bag around the tank like a tank bag, it fits pretty good and doesnt seem to get in the way as the frank and beans arent big enough to pose a problem   …………………………………………………… :pinch:
A new rim, tyre, and spokes have been fitted, costly ? yes, but worth it as i had already snapped 8 spokes on my wisemans ferry ride and that was only about 400 Klms
Im riding down to sydney on Wed and thought i could do a nice warm up ride, so if anyone has any directions to a handy newy to sydney back road route, i would be greatefull.
Have i told you guys that im getting excited :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
