The route TB has explained is the way to go for sure, it is the same route I took home after I rode Mt Irvine with Dejay, stayed at TB`s and rode home solo on the sunday a while back B)
Took me about 3hrs 45 on the dot with fuel stop at Blaxland and Wisemans and it was pissing doen in the Watagans on the way back

I can help you out with the route if you need help ;) I had plotted it on the GPS software & printed some paper maps to double check ,,,,,, Think I still have the route plotted on the laptop mate

Thanks Eagle, your a champ. :)
i had a quick look at TB’s route on google earth and it looks pretty straight forward, but looking straight down with the ability to scroll around is a bit different than looking at an unmarked trail that is in front of you while your riding, some of your knowledge would be great.

Im going top shelf when it comes to picking out your teaspoon mate

So a full day in the shed today to get the Super Tenere ready. Both fuel taps were leaking as some bonehead had kitted them and stuffed both the internal rubbers. I have managed to get both to stop leaking but one won’t turn off completely. Next I had to wire two Tapp Lite USB outlets ( See here ) to power the GPSs I need to prevent getting everyone getting lost going to the NSW high country the loop there and the trip back.

The other day I noticed this little gem!

    P1010529640x480.jpg

    P1010531640x480.jpg

Yeah some bonehead couldn’t get the clips grooves lined up so he tie wired it!! Please give me a break I was flying down the M4 the other day testing the tune of the twin carbys and the clip was freaking wired on! Anyway it’s fixed now

So I had to tune the mixture of the twin carbys and I couldn’t access the mixture screws with the tank on.

    P1010533640x480.jpg

    P1010534640x480.jpg

I needed it running to do the mixtures, so I rigged a home made remote tank

    P1010535640x480.jpg

    P1010536640x480.jpg

Oh I got ready just in case there was a fire

    P1010537640x480.jpg

Fitted new tyres so its not a toothless tiger  A Dunlop 908 front and a 606 rear.

    more later

Well it has been a busy week, and as Thrusday’s departure approaches there are few things to tidy up.

I tried to start it yesterday and no joy, sounded like no fuel and being a bit gummy with old fuel I decided to pull the carbies out for a clean. Its getting easier everytime. B)

    IMG2767-XL.jpg

Grace was quick to point out a clamp that needed tightening. My new Apprentice :)

    IMG2771-XL.jpg

I took it out for a longer ride today and it starts and runs well. I have gone for 75 to 85 main jets as 80’s didnt come in the jet kit I was put onto. Its up to 460cc from 398cc.

With the mixture out 1-3/4 turns it was killing the flame, I have back it off too 1 turn out and it still gets a bit fluffy once it warms up. Will try 3/4 turn tomorrow.

With the lowered pegs it is just about perfect for me and I finally rigged up a hand rear brake, that works. very handy as the disc is a bit ordinary.

There has been a bit of overflow from No2 & 3 carbies but a tap with a screwdriver seems to get the seats to settle.

It is such a great bike to ride, light and neutral and cant wait for the 5 day Scrapheap Adventure Ride over Easter
