:laugh:April 25, 2012 at 8:37 pm #220465Its a shame they cut the corner with the engine. Using the yz engine would have made for a bike that might match the hype in all the magazines. Too hard to fit the electric start to it apparently though.
I miss the days of Sidetracks truthful bike reviews.April 25, 2012 at 8:56 pm #220551jimmy wrote:Its a shame they cut the corner with the engine. I miss the days of Sidetracks truthful bike reviews.Umm dont be put off by the linear power delivery Jimmy when drag raced against the KTM530 it was impressive but more on that later when the suspension is done. The suspension BTW feels good it’s just sprung for a 75kilo rider.
Have you had a ride on one yet mate? I thought it wasn’t tha quick until the couple of drag races and roll ons. It doesn’t feel aggressive fast.TB
April 25, 2012 at 9:19 pm #220554Im really looking forward to your full report TB, i love my WR and i would dearly love a new one.
April 25, 2012 at 9:36 pm #220555Nah havnt. Had a quick look at one in the dealers in Mudgee.
I am sure they will be a good thing.
I just reckon they are a bit over hyped. For the price they shouldn’t be 128kg and need suspension work. Thats Jap bikes though I suppose.
Why do they all aim the springs for 75kg riders anyway? I reckon the majority of real life riders would be somewhere between 90 and 110kg.April 25, 2012 at 10:46 pm #220466Subscribed

I priced one today 13200 on road no extras wasn’t that serious cause i’m buying the demo from sunny corner ………………..cheap
May 2, 2012 at 11:30 pm #220934It’s a nice ride Bob check the one we are doing at Sunny Corner, it is having the suspension done at the minute

Weight means nothing except on paper to some bikes. I like the extra weight of both my XR and WR…, Hayabusa they have all got good weight is how I say it. And they suit my riding better for it.
Especially after fitting the steering dampener my 2011 WR450 climbs and tractors better and is harder to knock off course on rock trails. More like riding my XR but very bloody better.
Instead of weaving and threading up rocky hills you can pick the best line and go a bit faster..May 10, 2012 at 12:41 am #220467I had a go on one in the forest last week on a ProGriffin ride and must admit I was very impressed with the whole package, the weight didnt feel any different to my 2011 model, and as TB said the power delivery is sooooo smooth.
I rode it for about 40mins over the terrain we normally ride and as i said i was very impressed
