Yeah,,, But I know how much fun you will secretly have

It`s impossible to not,,, YOU WILL SEE
March 15, 2013 at 11:59 pm #238239It is so much easier to prepare a bike when you can actually ride the darn thing on the road. 4 break downs in 13 ks. Following some diagnosis in the shed I discovered the Honda was vapour locking thanks to a mud wasp nest in the fuel cap breather hose. I hope they enjoyed their flight, compliments to the air compressor. Demus had an issue with the DR but he thinks his on top of it now so we are off for our ride this arvo

I spent the arvo fitting some tyres to one of the NX’s

Then worked out a way to fit the GPS to the old girl

It is a Garmin that I borrowed off Moose. You have to believe their waterproof claim, this is the GPS we retrieved out of the floodwaters, it spent the whole night under water and is still good as gold!
March 16, 2013 at 10:29 am #238336You are now the lead rider and also the depth sounder at the creeks. Cheers moose , your a legend mate. But please shoe boofhead how to use it.
March 16, 2013 at 10:32 am #230577I pulled the old sr out today & fired up first touch of the button. Heading for a short test ride tomorrow but should be all good. I’m looking at going for a decent ride next weekend just to be sure . This year I only have my son with me so I will be looking for a second wing man if possible. Any volunteers
Cheers AndrewMarch 16, 2013 at 10:36 am #238339Have you got all your wheelie bars working Andrew? I am sure there will be plenty of willing supporters to help you along the way. Just make sure your chain isn’t gunna come off this year!
March 16, 2013 at 10:52 am #238340New chain & sprockets went on during the week. I’m leaving the legs off they are too unreliable especially in the dirt.
March 17, 2013 at 7:05 am #238341Changed the gearing and fitted some new foam rally grips to the 640 ready for the Scrapheap ride! Can’t wait it should be a great ride. Just waiting on my new Wolfman bags and some other parts then good to go! :woohoo:
March 17, 2013 at 8:09 am #238371Charley and I spent the whole day working on one of the NX’s, We fitted a gearsack rack that took some head scratching, some cutting and welding but fitted in the end. But not as near as much head scratching as the non working headlight took! We checked every wire and plug and still no head light, then all of a sudden the bastard would come on for no reason then go off again! As it turns out, believe it or not, it was the starter button that was causing the headlight not to work. On the NX, it has a switch in the starter button that turns the headlight off when you crank the starter, it was this switch that was full of crud and not allowing the power to the headlight! Bloody hell it took some finding, we all but pulled the wiring harness apart looking for a broken wire and as it turns out it would have been a 10 minute job if we had off known about the switch in the starter button. You live and learn! They aren’t far off being ready to rip now!
March 17, 2013 at 8:15 am #238378So whats left on the list now Mick?
