Hey all and happy new year
Has any body with the my14 exc 450 changed their exhaust to after market yet if so what are you running.
Mine rides pretty sweet now but it is so quiet it’s almost embarrassing

    Hey “H”
I put a FMF silencer on when I bought my 500
Happy with the note and couldn’t tell you if it enhanced the performance much as I had it fitted when I bought the bike new.
    Cheers

I have the akro slip on installed and the stocker in the garage. The akro cleans up the low end a bit and helps with flame outs. Sounds awesome to but let’s be honest who really needs more performance from a modern 450 or 500, I will not be worrying about an exhaust for the next bike.

Quiet exhausts are good for sneaking around where people complain about dirt bikes.

I love the quiet exhaust on my new Berg and it has heaps of power.

I think the weight saving would be more beneficial than the performance increase.

    Good points
I’m likening the new exc it’s awesome but can’t help thinking back to my 2004 sx 450 that seemed to be freakishly aggressive
I guess I miss that feel but thinking now would I really like to be lying on the tar on my back at traffic lights
    I think not.

It’s defiantly got more power then I can handle and went through the stock maxis rear like it was play dough.
I just wasn’t sure if getting it to breath a little easier would make a difference. A lot of bikes I came across when I was down South had Akro’s on

I’ve just got off my mates crf450x with an FMF on it and came to the conclusion I really like my KATO and I’d need to start to wear ear plugs if I went down that path

Yeah I think they do defiantly sound awesome and they do some what help performance, I think mine is a bit more solid from closed throttle to 1/4 with the akro and prolly has heaps more on top now as well but do I need it? Was it worth it? I’m not so sure and I won’t be doing the slip on thing straight away on the next bike.
