It was a big day but worth it , left home at 4 a.m for the 500km journey to Ballaba MX park just out of Queanbeyan for the Sherco 2014 Model release & tech info day for the Dealers .
On hand were Don Murray, Thomas Tiessier and Pascall ( i apologise if spelling of your name is wrong) who is the technical guru for sherco .

The 2014 300 & 250 4t were on hand plus a 300 trials bike ,X trail and the first of the long awaited 2 strokes models in the 250. We got to try them out on a enduro loop and MX track the weather was perfect and the bikes were even better  .
There were only about 7 of us there with 5 bikes on hand you just took one out came back handed it over and if there wasnt one ready it was only 5 minutes and there would be free. So after aboutv 4 hours of riding it was down to the technical side.

Sherco really has some big vision for the Aussie market and after riding the new models the 4T have been improved on last year with the 2 stroke range being released this year . After riding the 250 2 stroke today it is certainly a contender for the competition and cant wait to ride the 300 2T

So after the tech was all spoken about it was back on the bikes and some more laps , i ended up leaving about 3 pm and headed back home so after a 1000km round trip its been a pretty big but sensational day .

Congratulation and thanks to Don , Thomas, and Pascall for their time and information on the new models
    cheers HB

Good effort HB. Not only did you drive 1000k and ride all day but you also took the time to post it up. The Sherco’s look the business and I am sure they will see a good spike in sales this year.

just a bit about the models

    The 250 4T

We have a 250 in our shop and it gets looked over by everyone with the 300 on hand but after riding it i thought that it ligher to throw around even though both 250 &300 are the same weight in the specs. It will rev to the moon and is happy to be there as well the suspension was very plush and handled very well.

    300 4T

ive been riding the shop demo for a few weeks now and have worked out where to ride this bike
i love this bike the motor has a very strong mid range and instead of reving the crap out of it can be pegged up a gear and ride it in the meat of midrange the 2014 has an upgraded fuel injection system and redesigned crank and with the weight and the suspension you can hold your cornerspeed with the michelins as standard & the good traction from whitepower shock you will find yourself railing corners with ease .
the 270mm front brembos give more than enough braking power , i cant say theres any one thing that makes this bike standout, it just all works together, great package

    250 SMOKER

With the 4 stroke range release last year the long awaited 2 stroke range will be the focus this year with the 250 hitting here first and the 300 being released early next year. i couldnt wait to get on this and left it till last so i knew the tracks we were taking it on.
it is rated heavier than the 300 4T in the spec sheets but it didnt feel it …at all the motor was strong midrange all the way through through to the power band hit. I rode the same loop on each of the map settings that a easily switched over by the handlebar mounted switch (which is on both 2 & 4 stroke models just below the starter button) and found the softer setting just riding it in the meat of the torque range with the harder setting letting the full power of the bike with more of a top end hit (there is a difference of 7 HP between map settings) which was great on the mx track.
The electronic rvalve set up is simple it is servo controlled unit that activates the mechanical power valve and un like the cable set up of the later model CRs it is a unit on its own
i cant wait to see the 300

Anyway all up these bikes have goods to make their mark in the dirtbike market so all i will say is have a look at them ,they have a lot to offer

    cheers HB

    G’day Husky
Looks like we have something in common we should get the 2 shops together for a ride. Good luck with the new venture mate I think we will both do well with these. I’m impressed enough that this one is in the shed and CRF has gone. I’m on the ride tomorrow with the Tamworth boys will gauge interest there guessing.
Again, all the best with the new team.
