The Hastings Valley MCC are holding a 4 hr Pony Express on November 16. It would be great to get an OLD bull team together to race in it. You can go Iron man or ride it with a partner.Day licences are available for $55 and entry is $35.
I am thinking about partnering with Moose for it on his YZ125!!Or my 05 YZ250F if it is here in time.Or maybe Moose and I should enter on our BRP’s.
Speak up if interested.September 19, 2008 at 12:59 am #108434
AnonymousIf I’ve got a trailer and towbar sorted by then I could be keen. I would like a pertner though. I’ve never raced before and the ironman sounds scary!
September 19, 2008 at 1:11 am #108435Iron man means just that, it is ball breaking stuff.Especially if the day is hot. They usually get about 150+ riders to race. You can use two bikes or your partner and you can share one.
I wouldn’t be suprised to see Aussie off road champ Chris Hollis race on the day.September 19, 2008 at 1:25 am #108441

Unless one of the Sydney boys partners up with me and I can blag a ride up if I don’t get my own shit sorted.

Mac, it is about an 8 km loop through medium to tight single trail, trough loamy She oak scrub then up the side of a bit of a rocky hill through a hardwood forest, nothing really gnarly. It is the same track they held round 2 of the Aussie off road series this year on. It is like a tag team event with a Le Mans start where You and your partner go lap for lap for four hours. Yet someone like you Mac, would probably be considering going for the Ironman title and riding the full four hours on your own.:woohoo:
As I said it is a club day,so only a few guys really take it serious, last year some guys were dressed as fairies with pink wings and all. I have never raced it but have been the sweep rider for the last 3 events.September 21, 2008 at 2:07 am #108479sounds like a fun event Mick. How far from Sydney is it?
Hey Moto, If your after a partner im up for it! Dont think im quite fit enough for the iron man!

September 21, 2008 at 10:30 am #108438Hey mick the riders that are not members of Hastings club will have to join on the day and I have been unofficially told that there will be day memberships or substantially cut price memberships as a way to help out as it is in November and only 2 months of the 12 months are all that’s left of the yearly membership period.

That right Dave?
