Have added the fan kit now, it comes with all the fittings, thermostat, and wiring harness.

To my door for just under $190 AUS, and yes everything fitted perfectly.

    It was easy to fit.

Remove seat, remove tank, drain then remove right radiator.
Fit supplied fan to supplied bracket with supplied screws, fit bracket to radiator and rivet with supplied rivets.
Remove drain plug and screw in supplied thermostat, attach supplied wire harness to thermostat and plug into spare connector under frame.
    Replace everything.

Even a Honda mechanic could do it. :P

Haven’t read the whole thread but my Kato 400 was overheating badly on tight slow technical singles, Once I did the jetting it was all O.K, so maybe check your jetting.. Wack a JD kit in her and see how it goes then.

This all sounds too familiar, my son Tom had an 08 530excr and we went through 4 months of problems with overheating which started with an overheat in the middle of a ride this April(so not even hot weather).
This happened a few times before realising we had a bigger problem, I stripped it down to find a blown head gasket :( put a new one in and re-assembled it,checking all the other radiator components to make sure nothing was blocked or obstructed then carried on with the rebuild.
Come the weekend went out and did 270ks without a problem B) then 5Ks from home it boiled over again  this time I pressure tested the rad cap, tested the thermostat and nothing  took it for another short ride up the road and it boiled over again :( stripped it down again to find the head gasket gone again   , took the head and barrel to be checked for warpage where the machine shop skimmed both surfaces by the finest amount, another head gasket and off we go again only to have the same thing happen once more    this time it was repaired then traded in for a new ever reliable WR ;) :cheer:
I do think the Kato’s have an underlying problem with overheating, I’v got 2 mates with 2010 450s and both have had boil overs and one was on his first ride on saturday just gone  My advice would be to fit a fan, check the thermostat even look into fitting an overflow bottle  because you don’t want it to happen too often.

Hey Riggs, I was talking to my mate who’s just bought his 2010 450 and had a boil over on the first ride and he’s keen to buy a fan kit as well, could you let me know where you got it from in the states ;) and i can pass it on to him,

    Thanks

    Mike

    Get it here.
    http://www.cyclebuy.com/husaberg/accessories/exhaust_engine_parts.htm
    or
    http://www.offroadboss.com

The husaberg fan and the KTM fan are one and the same, even same part number.

I tried to order it from ktm-parts.com, but they rejected my order and told me to buy it from a local KTM dealer.
Didnt have that problem when ordered from a Husaberg online reseller.
