I’m going for a ride from Ourimbah SF to Pokolbin SF return, which takes us through five different forests. It will take about ten to twelve hours at a good pace without any major hold-ups. There won’t be any major stops except for splash and dash fuel stops and a quick lunch (and a latte) at a café. I’ll be picking the eyes out of the single trails in each forest and fit in as much single trail as time permits. If time gets away there will be main trail. There will be a bit of tar to get to where we need to go too. I don’t expect anyone to be pushing bikes up hills if you are a competent rider. Just a long day and will see how we are going depending on time and energy levels. I know I will be stuffed at the end.
This is an enduro ride and I’m taking the KTM450
Start time 6.30am and plan to return at 6.30pm
Meeting at Ourimbah Interchange car park, ready to ride

March 6, 2011 at 1:37 pm #197771how many fuel stops..? The tar sections.. are they main roads? Need to sort the logistics or riding a registered two banger with indicators removed..
March 6, 2011 at 5:48 pm #197781Since I’ve been asking for one of these rides.
I will be there.

Need to sort the logistics or riding a registered two banger with indicators removed..Mototrans, I did this ride last year on my 300. No indicators. Licence plate only. Did not encounter any problems in that respect.
I think I took 450 mls of oil which was plenty. We did 300 kms all up and from memory the max fuel I put in at each fuel stop (there were 4 or 5) was 6 litres. I’m sure some stops were only 4 litres.
The only issue I had was struggling to keep up on the tar and dirt roads as I had my gearing set low and it was uncomfortable riding above 80 or 90 km/hr.
March 7, 2011 at 12:36 pm #197788Thanks Littswood.. out of curiosity, what ratio are you using and what type of oil.. i’m running Motul 800 at the moment at 50:1.. is that a little high? i ask because we have the same bike essentially (KTM 300)

I think 50:1 is fine but I’m certainly no expert.
